and you know if its even possible to place the spawn at a realistic altitude without players flying off the side of the map before its even close to time for them to open chutes @pepsiMachine: yeah it used to work in BF1942 but in BF2 engine, just like in real life, smack into a human body with a tangle of para-cord and your aircraft is only gonna do one thing...fall. | |

Anything can be a weapon, anyone can be a threat. Never under estimate the combat ability of your opposition. He may seem weak and harmless now but even a dead man can carry a few pounds of explosives in his gut or deliver a decisive blow by rotting away in your water supply.

[QUOTE=Jigsaw;1247186]Think of it as though you are jumping from a very high altitude (which you would do in actual combat) and when you spawn you have already been in freefall for several seconds, so it is time to pull the cord.QUOTE]
Not 100% sure about this, but I'm pretty sure that in most combat parachuting the chute is pulled as soon as they leave the plane and not done from super high up(atleast in the non elite airborne units). I think only special forces and other similarly trained units do HALO jumps(High Altitude, Low Opening). |
