Default MEC storyline

I am in college and need to come up with a "creative" story for one of my classes. I was thinking about forming a storyline on NATO vs MEC and why they are fighting.

for example what events lead to fighting to Muttrah City, Asad Khal etc... and the other maps like what happened before those battles.

MEC would be the following countries...

Iran- the top country in MEC and the dominating country in terms of politics also a supplier of arms and equipment.

Palestine

Lebanon

Syria

Pakistan- Over the years the "stable government was overrun by the Taliban

Jordan

opposing forces are...

US

UK

Israel

Canada

Germany

France

Australia

Poland

Turkey

now what do you guys think? ? ? Good idea or bad...note I do not want to get the creators of the game pissed off so....if they would answer too that be pretty cool... this story will not get published and will only be used as a post and for a college paper! If the creators have a problem with it I simply will not create a story for the class and all the PR forum subscribers to read.

i took out somolia and libya due to geographic location

Interesting idea, I think it could be a very good story.

Some things I would consider though:

1. Nuclear weapons: you can either have them be in the story, and set the war against the backdrop of a planet devastated by an atomic holocaust between the MEC and NATO, (which could be very interesting) or you could leave them out of the story entirely, and not make them appear at all, which would be less realistic, but easier to write.

2. Alliances: It might be better if you bring in some other Asian countries as well, like China, Vietnam, Japan, and Russia. I know you want to make it just the Middle Eastern Coalition, but in all likelihood other superpowers would get involved in the war as well, the way they are in PR. Heck, why not have some interesting twists, like China is now a NATO ally and Russia is fighting NATO? (ok, maybe the latter isn't such a twist, but you get the idea.)

3. Technology and Time Period: You could make the war set in like 2013 or something, or you could make it set in 2080. If you do it in the far future, I would recommend staying away from lazorz and en3rgy sheildz, since that makes it too science fiction-y and unrealistic. You could have some very advanced technology for the militaries though, like every soldier has retinal implants or networked computers and communications and stuff. You know, futuristic, but not unrealistic.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Go with what you think would make a good story.

Turkey would probably go MEC. and the goverments would not be as radical. I mean ppl gotta stop looking at PR as having "good" and "bad" guys.

Turkey is on track to join the EU, if I'm not mistaken. And by Western standards, they're one of the most secular countries in the Middle East.
So they would probably go with the rest of Europe, IMO.

But who knows, 65 years ago the US nuked two Japansese cities, and now we're best buds.
Diplomacy is a weird game.

i have done research on possible countries for MEC Turkey would most likely be apart of the NATO like forces side because of the strong ties with the US and UK... Turkey will act as a staging ground for NATO forces

as for NUKES I am going to incorporate them in the storyline as it would be useless for anyone to use them I highly doubt they (nukes) would be used again (except by terrorists) MEC knows it would be suicide for Iran to launch their NUKES and ditto for the NATO countries.

as for China and Russia... As of late 2009 Russia as with China condemned Iran for their nuclear policies (just like the US and UK did) and with China and Russia writing a "mean" letter to Iran I would think they would not pick sides with this middle eastern war.

Also China and the US would most likely never get into a war because simply our economies are so close that either side would not benefit in an all out war and if you look at the US and China relations and foreign policies I would not be surprised if in 10 years or so we would have a type of alliance with them just the same as Israel (Officers in my unit have worked as liaisons with Chinese units in China). As for Russia slapping Iran's wrist and the MEC being the aggressors (in my storyline MEC starts the war) they will leave it alone and simply sit back and watch

as for the time period it will take place late 2012 or early 2013(no not because of the doomsday prediction) I chose this date because the USMC in Muttrah City do not use the EFV which will most likely replace the AAV for USMC early 2015, and we can see some EFVs in service as early as 2014 according to Camp Leatherneck Magazine 2010 issue. And PR takes place in the Near Future so I chose this date too.

The time in my story gives the US and UK etc... forces enough time to destroy the Taliban threat in Afghanistan set up a large military base as with Iraq, leave Iraq for the most part, have the Taliban destroy the Pakistan govt and take over as they did with Afghanistan in the past (Pakistan with a Taliban govt will play a major role in the story) and Iran to start forming secrete alliances with other ME nations (Iran Quds force have already been captured in Iraq and Afghanistan training and equipping insurgents and taliban in the past so they are anti West this will play a part in my story as well.

thats true but when you look at it that way, your not thinking about "MEC", your thinking about how Turkey is today. what i mean is that in PR MEC is a powerfull force and Turkey would probably side with them. today thier is nothing close that resembles MEC so they go NATO.

I can imagine it's hard to make a somewhat plausible storyline, since there are so much intertwining relationships between all those countries, not to speak of their sometimes in fractions divided population. Take for example the different Islamic fractions in alot of Arabic countries that really don't get along that well with each other a lot of the time, or the Palestines and Israëlis (since Palestines are on MEC side, what would Israël do and what would MEC do to support them, what would international media responses be like etc.) and like mentioned before Russia in relationship to Georgia and Chechnya, or the US and China. I'm really interested in seeing what you will come up with as for the story and how you will fit the maps/battles in PR in it, since i have often thought about it myself as well.
