I play a lot on HOG muttrah 24/7
Most of the time, HOG member, especially "HOG Funeral director" have that in mind and already apply this, but most people don't, normally: When you are American on Muttrah, or whatever map have lotsa chopper, you need to make only 1 squad for Huey, otherwise, it waste useful squad place. Sometime, there is 1 trans huey squad, 1 atk huey and 1 LB squad... 3 squad created, locked, when you could only have 1 squad. Sometime, infantry squad can't be created because of that! a HUEY squad should win over a TRANS HUEY squad and ATK HUEY squad. period. I would even go as far as integrating the Cobra in the huey squad, making it HUEYCOBRA squad, or CHOPPER squad or whatever. You still have 3 men for those 3 huey, 1 man for the atk huey, and 2 man for the Cobra. I forgot the LB? NO Littlebird don't do NOTHING more what HUEY do, nothing, they do even less. LittleBird squad should be prohibited! Littlebird are for fallen huey pilot only, a transition making the transport service still fully operational. Not to mention littlebird are wasting asset in become and most of the time, several huey are already there to take troops wherever they want to go, with crate.. They is no point at all of taking Littlebirds out when huey are there, and when they are not, well guess what, the huey pilot probably needs it! Another point is, addressed to fellow chopper pilot in MUTTRAH: When you are in the HUEY squad, and your huey is down, if you are the first of the 3 huey to fall, you should quit the squad and forget about huey for that round... Don't go take a littlebird, your team doesn't need 3 chopper pilot, it only need 2 at best, and you know you just want to fly around when you take a Littlebird, despite the fact you will probably waste that asset for nothing! And when all huey will be down, and people can't rely on chopper transport and need to wait, you will know you just wasted a usefull when needed asset, the littlebird. Frankly, I would even only take 2 huey pilot straight from the start, leaving 1 huey for a quick swap if 1 huey goes down, because face it, 3 huey is too much after the first 2 minutes... but that's me, it might be too radical! Thank you |

Having the Cobra and Atk Huey in the Huey squad is not practical. The Cobra and Atk Huey are suited to having their own squads because they need spotters. Ideally you would have a 'CAS' squad comprising of two spotters, the cobra and the atk huey, but that rarely happens. | |

To be honest the Attack Huey squad on Muttrah normally only lasts a few minutes, due to them dying and then vacating the server ^^. But I do agree that Cobra and attack Huey's should be put together, if not manned by the same people (90% of the time the Attack Hueys down before cobra spawns in). This way the gunner can be a viewer on the FLIR(or Huey equivalent) and they can have a spotter or two for the squad as a whole.
Generally if someone is hogging squad room I try and get some people to move together, or inform an administrator that there are some useless 1-2man squads that could easily coalesce. |

While I combine littlebirds and trans hueys together, the attack helis should be kept in their own squad. Its a double edged sword. Yes combining all the helis period lessons squad space, but then only Quinling and Kashan should you ever really have to worry about not enough squads. but having too many people in a CAS squad is counterproductive. Then you have too many people trying to talk over each other when it should be just the pilot/gunner talking with their squad lead who is marking targets and lasing.
Mixing trans with them is just counterproductive as then you have all the other pilots who are talking to each other about drop off coordinates. TBH, if you are having problems with not enough squads on a map like muttrah where only three of the total nine contribute to assets then there needs to be something done with the one or two person locked squads. |

It is aminor issue, but an issue because a PR bro says it is. Has anyone thought of trying to lead a PILOT squad, where if you need a pilot kit, then you need to be in the pilot squad. Then all air activity can be coordinated by a non-pilot SL, and only 1/5th of your manpower is non-infantry.
SL-spotter Cobra pilot Cobra gunner Huey pilot Huey pilot LB pilot You can have 1 huey and 1 LB in reserve. (Economy of Force principle). |

Cobra squad (if they use voip) will have way too many coms going and wont really have time to give markers for trans squad. Thus they should stay separate, if its a dcent CAS squad anyhow they should have a spotter in the squad. I dont see why the attack huey is not just part of the CAS squad, not a HUEY squad.
To be honest, none of this really matters, the real problem is pilots that suck, not what they call their squad. |

Yea
after all, you guys might be right, I must admit I don't do much cobra and atk huey, I'm all about trans huey. But I still hold my position on LBird, LB squad is a waste of asset, a waste for the trans huey squad in case of both huey down and transport is needed. (on muttrah) And about that quote on APC, Mumble will be the answer, because the apc squad need to speak together as a group, but it still very confusing when both apc are talking at the same time "no no left! back up a little! -no not you! it's the other gunner speaking" |
