Default Driving enemy light vehicels

Why is it limited? Obviously the Humvee is designed to be driven like any other car/truck/van (as opposed to like a IFV or tank) and obviously there are going to be a fair number of fighters that can manage to figure out a stick shift (are humvees automatic?).

On top of that we actually have a handful of instances where American technology has fallen into the hands of insurgents and Taliban. The 2 that come to my mind are Pakistani Taliban seizing equipment meant for American forces in Afghanistan and Houthi rebels crossing into Saudi territory and stealing American made Humvees.

Houthis destroy Saudi tanks, Humvees

So, what is the obvious reason I am missing for Taliban not to be able to drive LIGHT NATO vehicles and vise versa?

Thankfully the PR team doesn't want a circus like that and like it is in every other game. It has been discussed to death and will not be turned back on as it will give some problems with what you see on the map.

i believe it's not to do with the ability to use the vehicles

i'm pretty sure that if vehicles were open for use to both teams then they could act as early warning markers, because once an enemy enters the vehicle would be removed from your map and if they hopped out then it'd appear back on the map.

edit: goreziad you damn ninja

1) No one with any brains will be driving an enemy vehicle around a combat zone.
2) Doing this means that whenever you hop out of a vehicle, it appears on the map as a neutral vehicle. Aka, a big red warning sign whenever a squad dismounts.

Lock, as this has indeed been discussed to death.
