Ok I just finished a round of Barracuda on pelitutka. Snipers operate in two man squads!!
Today I have proven that sniper can be usefull. I had 18 2 k/d, owned a full 6 man squad with a pistol. Owned three guys with a pistol in a really hard situation. Almost all the targets I sniped have been moving. I have been providing inteligence, fire support, even building FOBs. I did my part, if you ask the guys from the *RR* clan, they can confirm most of this, and if you want to see some screenshots check my profile.

As you can see I was able to both protect myself and the team.

Dont take the sniper rifle if you dont know how to operate it, the same as you do with a pilot. Leave the snipers to two man specialized squads.

P.S. You should leave the sniper only if the sniper squad has been there from the begining, if they just show up later ignore them.

Considering at least for the British the L86 was introduced as AR function, then later converted to the DMR role, it's about bloody time Also remember that most of these weapons will have max 30 round mags, so it won't by any means be a proper AR.
