Gazz sniping :O *feints*

But On topic, im sure you can only request 1 sniper in a squad. So what they were trying was mainly because of them not being allowed to request a second kit.

You don't relocate? Man you're not a good sniper - surprised the enemy don't spot you.

I've played as a spotter before - I set rallies and I looked through my GTLD so the sniper can keep his rifle out all the time and reduce deviation. While we were changing position I would scout the area first with the sniper covering the rear.

I've been through many rounds without losing a single sniper kit this way.

Without a Spotter to protect him? That's not good

While we are on the subject of IRL use of snipers vs ingame we should talk about relocating as well. Everybody says to do it frequently, but I find that it is when I move to relocate that I die. Maybe the "rules" of sniping IRL doesnt really apply to PR. Reasons for that could be the lack of undergrowth on larger view distances or because we are too impatient to crawl 500 meters ingame.

Edit: A spotter to protect when relocating is good of course, but almost nobody is willing to be spotter in pub as it is kind of boring to most likely never fire a single shot during a round.

You don't have to die - just have to be clever, getting your spotter to clear out the area in front and then moving keeping in a ditch/behind a ridge all the time.

If you get a spotter to clear anything out then you've failed the mission and should RTB or find yourself dead soon.

Any squad can be a pain in the ass. Any squad that wants a certain asset/kit regardless of the current battle situation can hinder the game as they try to obtain said equipment instead of fulfilling the role that the team currently needs.

So, what's to stop a n00b from being an officer before they request any other kit? This will not solve the problem. (not that I see a problem anyway) Players, as we all know are hardcoded.

Wrong. Mumble FTW.

"1337 lone wolf" "both have sniper kits" Contradiction much? How're sniper squads supposed to operate? In a 6 man squad? As a pair? On their own? There are many ways of running a sniper or recon squad, each has its benefits and downfalls. It all depends on the map and current situation.

On our Crazy Azz uFear server, sniper kit is not considered to be a team asset. We treat it just like any other limited kit (AT, medic or AR) and we don't require sniper to be in the squad name. So squad named sniper would have no priority over anyone else with the sniper kit. Second, it is the best to ignore server chat, most of the time it is just a meaningless drivel that has nothing to do with game and just detract from it. I would not however kick anyone for it, I would suggest to stop typing and start playing thou to participants. The only time I would kick for chat, is if it start getting offensive.
