Anyone else think that the commander position is pointless?
i mean it takes forever to reach an ur target with ur UAV only to get ther and struggle to distiguish between friendlys and foes

-the speed of the UAV is realistic i suppose but how bout some zoom capabilities to me it seems ridiculous that a Ground Attack heli or a tank has better reconnaissance compabilities than a recon UAV which is designed specifically for that purpose.. and how about predator AGM hellfire missles perhaps? for example on insurgency mode to replace area attacks, or maybe even along side area attacks.. How bout allocating a predator UAV with 2 missles that dont take any loading time and can be fired on the fly by the commander without ground support, the downside being that u only get 1 allocated amount per flight, like a normal plane it has to return to base to rearm.. i mean thats realistic right? idk i mean thers civilians in game so to avoid civi casualities so i assume the a military force like USMC or the US Army would prefer smaller percise ordance disposal like AGM's over large artillery/motor strikes

NOTE: Im making the AGM missle suggestion for BLUFOR on insurgency only because i think atm its unrealistically in favour of the insurgents especially with rally's now disappearing after 30seconds (er w/e) wher as it should be the other way around the BLUFOR should have the advantage in technology wher insurgents have the defensive/ambush and spawn point advantages... im not saying that its unfair the way it is now... in reality no to opposing factions are ever equal, all most always one of them has the advantage, im talking about putting more Realism into the insurgency mode in particular

-as it stands now if you want a commander in game you either have do it urself or get a mate to do it, because out of the 2 abilities you have at as a commander, area attacks take forever to load and the UAV is virtually usless

-just a thought really and i want to put more emphasis on enhancing the UAVs recon capabilities overall throughout both AAS and Insurgency, and im hoping for positive feedback and to see this implimented asap of course...... jks jks, im sure the devs have better things to do

Usually when one team has a commander and the other doesn't the team with commander wins.

A good commander can co-ordinate his force and his air assets, to dominate the enemy and launch well planned attacks on flags. It adds a whole new level to the gameplay.

A Predator missile sounds quite cool though...

And the UAV Does need zoom.

first, this isn't the suggestion forum and theres a reason why you're forced to have at least 15 posts to post in there.
Pretty much every point in your thread is a resuggestion and not realisable because of the limitations of the bf2 engine. (hardcoded)

UAV needs zoom like stryker and its camera mounted 90° left or right in relation to the body, so you can circle around an area...

Actually I would have to say adding Hellfires to the Commander would be nice, but only if its implemented in this way.
-It would have to work along with the Artillery Strikes, the UAV will show up for 10 minutes at a time as usual (From start of the round to end). And each time it will be loaded with 2 Hellfires.
-The Hellfires can only be launched a Laze with request for the commander.

UAV is a missile (in-game) therefore it can't launch other missiles. It can't zoom because missiles are hardcoded.

CO can turn a blob into a spearhead. COs (good ones) are great and make teams win.

And as Myru said, there is a reason you need 15 posts to post a suggestion.
And the right name would be UAV Suggestion.


And it's all ressugestion! Search the forums before posting!


(BTW yes, they mentioned the same points as you did on Bold, including the same type of hellfire).

its not a vehicle, its a projectile and projectiles cant fire other projectiles in game, so yes it is hardcoded.

if you think commander is pointless you are doing it wrong.

great for relaying info between squads
waypoint informants are awesome.
great for yelling at people that are dicking around when you are on a server when what commander says goes.
uav needs a gps or something to tell me where i am on the map
