Unfortunately, you can't use artillery in 'pure sp' anymore, you need one human player to spot, one human player to be commander.

It sucks that the simplest things get screwed with a new 'patch', but that's beyond our control.

Uhum, perhaps you could try on Coop, which probably won't be too heavy on the internet, mostly on your PC, since you will be handling bots for the most part.

Running tactics that, overall, are completely useless.

In PR, warfare is incorrectly represented. There is no adrenaline rush nor fear of getting shot. I will often run out into the open with little care for whats going to happen to me, simply because if I die I can respawn.

A single SAW can take out an entire squad by walking around the corner and spraying without zooming in, while moving. With that in mind, think about if the troops were in an open file formation. Would it have made a difference? No. Formations are absolutely useless because PR is a completely random environment where the stupidest things can happen, and shit-random gameplay and tactics are rewarded. As a squad leader, I never use formations other than an extended file to look for a possible cache in the valley on Lashkar. Formations are a waste of time, are close to impossible to keep coherent in an artificial environment.

Some SLs may think they are being smart and functional when using formations, but in reality they are wasting their squads time which overall is detrimental to the objective.

Yeah as I re-read through my guide I noticed that the formations part sounded a little stupid :P so I made a quick note on it.

But yeah you are exaggerating in some bits .

I believe the best formations on open terrain, though, are a line (enables everyone to engage a target from a different point of view) or staggered column on streets (3 on each side, enables mutual cover from rooftops and vehicles, common in insurgency.
