I think the answer is neither of the above.

Rudd has explained to me before that there's certain lighting effects and stuff that are coded into the SF.exe that allow better night effects. If PR was a mod for Special Forces, night maps and such would be a higher possibility as it has better lighting capabilities. (so I've been told, I've never played it) There must be a line that dictates how far the PR devs are aloud to dig into BF2:SF otherwise, the .exe could be used and the PR devs could basically clone SF and EA wouldn't have a chance of selling their own game.

BF2 and SF can both run night maps

the problem is that only the SF.exe can run night maps properly as the latest nvidia graphics cards are bugged with night maps on the bf2.exe

Its very sad, but my night version of Tad Sae and Op Barracuda that I play on PRSP are still alot of fun.

Though the visual bugs can get annoying, as I use a nvidia gtx 275

I had no idea PR was allowed stuff from SF by DICE themselves.

Hat's of to the chaps at DICE then I guess.

Yeah, those effects made me creat this topic. I'd like to know if PR can use them (shiny tracers and that blood effect) or it is only with SF.
