both the norwegian maps are 4km with viewdistances of: mine 1,8km and wicca 1,6km so that shouldnt be a problem

4km SQUARE. Big difference. And you reminded me of the view distance which is something like 800m on most maps? That isn't even the range of an M24, so why do you need something that can shoot even farther than the view distance when the sniper you already have can shoot farther than what you can see?

Yeah but it cannot be coded to actually disable them, therefore it is useless.

You shot any one in the head recently with anything smaller than a 50 round? because if you have they may have been revived because it is only the 50 or bigger that can kill to the head IIRC.

Disabling a vehicle and destroying it are two different things.

Blowing a tire off the rim is disabling a vehicle. Putting 4 rounds of .50 cal fire into the side and having it blow up is different.

Besides the .50 cal is already used on light vehicles yes? The M2 on the humvee? It takes more then 4 rounds to disable a vehicle as you put it. Its impossible to simulate the required accuracy to disable it without putting like a weak spot. That doesn't negate the fact a .50 caliber bullet to the tire would make a humvee explode.

*facepalm* You forgot the 25 killstreak nuke.

But why on earth do we need a .50 cal sniper rifle? Snipers (don't like 'em in PR) are there to provide l4z0r support for CAS. (Even though it usually doesn't happen) They should be co-ordinating with other units, rather then also have the ability to take out other vehicles. They should be a link, not the killer. Why would snipers bother to co-ordinate at all, if they can take out ~50% of the vehicles themselves with this weapon? They won't, because they can all do it by themselves. It will only encourage lone-wolfing, and rushing/ tk'ing for the .50 cal sniper kit. I'd say no.
