Some strange things are going on here......

6 pages of this thread have been deleted - meaning to me that someone is trying to hide the content of this post..... mmmmmmm

Anyway, my question now to the Dev's is:

If I develop my own training map/mode - are we allowed to host it on our own private passworded server under the license agreement?

It would be nice if someone from the Dev team could answer some of the questions that were posted in this thread about the lack of training modes - such as why can't we have a training mode but on locked servers only, to stop all the noob-festing that happened before that the dev's wanted to stop?

I'm pretty sure you can make your own "training" mode, if you password the server.

Lol the mysterious disappearing thread.

Anyway to answer your question - from the licence agreement:

Quote:
Section 2: Server Side Modding

.................
Files you CAN edit:
realityconfig_common.py
realityconfig_private.py
realityconfig_local.py
When you password your server, it automatically uses realityconfig_private.py , and that's the file which you edit to whatever settings you like. You can also run your own custom maps as long as the server is passworded.

If you wanted to make a custom version of an official PR 0.9 map, then you would have to follow these rules:

http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f388...n-pr-maps.html

Also I'm pretty sure that R-DEV Hans said he was working on more training modes?

I've installed the BF2 Editor and had a little play (about 2 hours) and while I can get the map and objects to load in the editor after following Rhino's instructions, I can't get the vehicles to appear and thus start to add more vehicles.....

But I guess I just need to do a little more researching yet....

This is good news about an official training mode - looks like my nagging has paid off this time...

This really isn't a replacement, I had a go this morning to practice helicopter maneuvers and the whole game is tweaked...All the aircraft fly like they are vBF2...is that intended? It's not very good practice to tweak them out this way, then trainee's join the game thinking they are sweet to fly and they crash into the ground soon as they try pull a hard maneuver.
