perhaps. Well, insurgents do depend on guerilla tactics to win battles, but when I think about it, I think about some patriotic speech or anti-american speech in favor of their "motherland"...

And yes, I do believe they would keep it like gold... but perhaps, in PR reality, insurgents cannot load ammo anywhere I think... which means they drop ammo, while the americans and conventional armies "resupply" on the supply crates (new mags or just putting rounds inside a clip...) but yeah, IRL they would keep it.

Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple!

İn youtube Chechen Mujahideen reload ak-47 mag(not weapon, mag!!!) during combat.Because they need whatever they have in combat so they dont waste anything.

For example Mujahideens dont firing fully-oto they fire semi or burst.Because they must care about on every bullets in their hands.

it drives me nuts when i do a tactical reload and i hear the sound of a round hit the deck. its not like you have to touch the bolt to pop out a magazine. im guessing you cant program that in though.

Its just way cheaper for the army to re-use empty mags, and if you put them in your mag-bags and you're out of ammo you can always throw them to the enemies' heads :P.

clips like those are not saved though to my knowledge, MA's would know better

and btw it's called a clip
As far as I know, after the last bullet is fired, the magazine holder in an enfield gets tossed out with a ping, so the soldier in question would have to search for it on the ground. At the time nobody thought of magazine retention. I might mistake it with whatever the Americans used in WWII though.

And it's a clip that is ejected from the Garand(and used in the Enfield), which is just a small metal piece to keep the rounds together, I doubt they were re-used. Magazines, like the ones in SMGs I would think were re-used back then as well.

Read:
Clip (ammunition) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Magazine (firearms) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The google knows. Use it.

If you look at the enfield animation you'll see it's quite realistic, except that it ignores the number of rounds that may be present in the magazine already. The fixed magazine simply has a spring for pushing rounds up and feed them to the chamber, it doesn't eject anything. I would be interested to know whether soldiers kept or discarded the clips, but I would assume they kept them. They are fairly small and very useful.

I shall ask the grandfather when I next see him as he served with the RE back in 1940, but then again with old age he may not remember.
