People are disregarding the point of this game

In squads I've been in - I have seen/heard many people going out of there way to help/inform people about the PR's game play.

I always try to help new people, even though I'm less patience when they steal my vehicle when I step out of for a minute.

Think how stale this game would become if there were no new players.

Yeah.....except the majority of new PR players seem to be complete morons


I consider a new player one with a mic, and who is eager to cooperate. Even without a mic, if he leaves the squad when I explain to him that you need a mic, then I consider that person a new player. Its all about cooperation and attention- if a player in my squad doesn't have those, I'm gonna be epically pissed.

Well, lets be fair. The new players only real fault usually is that they don't say they are new.

Like, I have had some newboys in my squad and they only say they are new when I've given them a job that they aren't really ready for.

"I'm not sure what to do, I'm new"

"oh mate, you should have said. thats ok, X can do it instead, grab urself a rifleman kit and reform on me. Do what I do, go where I go"

and it goes ok from there.

I generally kick the ones that do the dumb stuff, sniper kits without asking etc, they can learn the hard way.

and i agree i have been noticing alot of "srry no mics" or alot of ppl having a hissy fitabout small things and not asking nicely or some sh!t like thatI hate to see PR turn into something like that sad

I've been playing this mod for about 6 months now and I love it. When I first installed this MOD, I clicked around and saw this 'Training' button next to deployment. Seeing as I had yet to read the manual I thought I'd give it a whirl. I entered a Kashan Training Server with absolutly no idea what was going on. In BF2 I was a chopper pilot, so my first instict was to get in the chopper to see how it was. Someone else was flyin, so I thought I'd check out the gun. As soon as I jump in the gunners seat, guess what happened?....'I need to be in the same squad'? WTF? So I joined his squad and jumped back in, thinking everything was going to work just fine now. 'I need a pilot kit'? WTF? I shook my head and pressed ESC. I exited the game and was about to delete the MOD from my computer. Then I saw this link to the PR Manual and was slightly curious. I checked out the manual and read it from cover to cover. Every patch that comes out, I read the change log and try to memorize it. I love this mod and the community that surrounds it.

I do have some tolerence when newbs play on my SQ or on my team ( No tolerence for n00bs). The difference is, with me, if they start asking too many questions, I ask them if they have read anything? If they keep asking I state that this game is NOT BF2. Still they ask? I TELL them to go read and practice on a Training server. If that fails, and I'm the SL, I tell them I don't have time to babysit, sorry, then I kick them from SQ. Unless they follow orders and only ask questions during 'quite time'.

Kicking people from the SQ should be second nature; someone doesn't listen-I don't care if you have VOIP or not- 3 strikes and you're out. I will not allow my other SMs to suffer because of one inefective SM. "The need of the many outweight the good of the few, or the one" ~Spock.

I feel like, if I took the time to read the manual and practiced on training servers first, so should they. Regardless if they're a newb or n00b.

There is maybe another solution. In vBF2 there is this annoying voice telling you what to do and if I'm not mistaken there was also a text going with the speech.

Now take that function, edit it for PR and force it the first couple of rounds. I'm not sure if that works thou.

That's the helper VO, it would tell you what key in the text.

On top of that, theres waaay less tactics being used. There needs to be serious punishment for TKing. Im seeing grenades lobbed everywhere now with no consideration for collateral damage.

Going back to Mics, Either no one talks in a squad, or I get a green message *sorry no mic* but half the time the person with no mic is the squad medic, lmg kit or even the squad leader...







Is this because PR has gotten alot more publicity and all the BF2 COD4 kids are like ooooooo GunZZZ, and they dont give a bats ass about the point of the game, only there kill count?

I don't know, the amount of ass-hatery seems the same. Perhaps everyone has become unable to deal with incompetence to even the slightest degree or there are a lot of pretentious players out there. I remember when I first started playing people were yelling at me because I didn't know how to do everything. I know, RTFM, right? Yeah, expecting people to have everything memorized in the manual is a bit much and believe it or not but the manual doesn't cover everything.
