Thumbs down Team balancing feature

If there's one thing I hate the most about PR/BF2, it's the team balancing feature.
Nothing is worse* then a great game being ruined by suddenly getting switched to the other team, which you were kicking ass a few moments earlier...

Just now in EOD. I was in a great squad, with a great squadleader (sorry can't recall your name) and epic moments of ammo exchanges. While I throw my hook over a wall to retreat from a stalemate firefight, I get shot in the back. But immediately my screen says: "You have been switched to the other team"....

Bye great round.... at that point, I can't be arsed to keep playing as the guys who I was shooting at earlier. And you can't return to your own team of course because the game won't let you....

I understand that 50 vs 14 is not fun either, but teambalancing is just as awful in my opinion

I blame it on teamswitchers. I wish teamswitching was disabled apart from during first 3 mins of a game.

Fixed If I join half way through with some mates on TS to play PR, I don't want to have to wait till the end of the round till I can.

The balancing feature needs to be changed to people who just joined or recently joined.. switching people over that have been playing most of the round is stupid.

Same, i've got auto-switched quite a few times during a great round to the other team, losing your spot in the squad you were in and with (mostly) no (good) squads to join and few/none players to make a squad with. I agree on disabling team-switching apart from the first 3-5 minutes or so after joining the server.

Agreed, auto balance is a pain.

I would much prefer uneven matches where I can chose the faction I want to play and get to stay on that side with my mates.

Don't get me started on auto balanced training servers either...

Is auto balance part of the server license?

Nope, though most servers have it enforced, some do not, and some have a feature that I like, which is that it'll give some leaway (up to 2 or 3 players difference), and can pick and choose between players with better scores or that are in squads.

Interesting, I would at least prefer a more intelligent form of auto balance that has consideration for squad play.

Something that allows people to change team if they wish, allows slightly uneven team numbers and targets unassigned/new/low score players if someone has to be swapped after they die.
