Default Casual gamer equals no server, discuss

Last few days i've really been pissed off about the fact that it's very hard to find a server to play on in the evenings. It seems that you have to play from early till late if you want a good server.

Every night there are ~5 full servers, a few server with couple spots open ( though most of the time reserved ) and then a long list of non english servers that are always 50% populated or less with non organised teams. If that's not enough, I really don't enjoy Insurgency and most of the non full servers are most of the time Insurgency. As it looks now, my evening of what was suppose to be an enjoyable night playing PR always ends with me being in the lobby, spamming update list, to find one of the full servers have a spot open, which they never have ( could be because my pc needs 10 seconds to refresh in which another person already have joined by then ).

This might sound like a rant but I'm curious how you folks deal with this problem?

Now reserving a slot might sound like the ideal solution, but can you as a casual?

Sincerely,

W_D

problem will be solved with 0.86 with the announced auto join function. At mapchange there are always loads of players leaving. So will get definitaly a slot on mapchange without refreshing the serverlist

Sorry for my bad english ^_^'

For joining a server in .85 that's full, I just put the name of it in the search bar, and refresh from there, that way it only searches for that server, not all of them.

I wait and always update the server I want into or if its .:iGi:. server i ask for a spot.

EDIT: YOu can just press on two servers all the time like if UKWF and TG is besides each other you just press those two and wait for a spot to be open.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Regarding your point about reserved slots, .Different clans operate different policies on reserved slots, but i believe most will either have reserved slots on their servers that only members on their List (generally clan/supporting members) can access or they will have a "kick to make room" policy.
Fortunately they are introducing a fantastic piece of kit next patch which will allow you to take a smoke/coffee break etc. while waiting to get on next patch, but until then your best bet is to be patient or find a clan with a server that satisfy your times.
One thing i will say though, is that PR is much better, when you struggle for ages to get on, and finally you find a server where you can get on, things are running smoothly and the game you play is excellent, those are the most enjoyable games you will ever have, albeit if the wait is a tad annoying!

I feel you man. After about 12am pst the servers go european on us. Pings go to 210+ and it becomes very tough to play. On top of that theres like 1-2 american servers that, like you said, are full. Sometimes though I find that the europeans are funner to play with, they seem to take the game a lil more serious than us Americans, at times.

I'd say when a server is full, try another one wich isn't full ? There isn't only 2 good server on PR... =QTF= is a nice one and we always try to offer a mature, tactical oriented experience to anyone joining it. Wether you speak french or english. Don't be picky! :P

Then join a server with free slots even it's located in "non-english-speaking" country. There's always a bunch of people who will get together and play.

Also you should add some servers to your "Favorites"-list in the BF2 Browser and refresh them instead of the whole list.
