Default Are players used to the 30 seconds of waiting ?

After playing ArmA + ACE mod, I had some rounds wich there was no respawn. That was good at first, but then I saw how that could kill the game-play and push players (principally the new ones) away from playing it again. So, respawning is a very important game-play factor wich must be present in on-line games.

Of course we can't abuse too much from the re-spawning so that's why we have a punish of a longer time of waiting to respawn in game and get back to the fight. Having a short time of respawn will cause a feeling of imortality in the players and they will act like Rambos.

So, why do we still see a lot of Rambos in game ? And the numbers are increasing. Even old players do something expecting to be killed, like they are used to the 30 seconds. Even me, 30 seconds (or a little more) is normal now to me.

Have you noticied it too ? And what can we do to bring the fear-factor of death back to the game ? Increase the time of waiting ? Or maybe re-work the respawn system ?

Here is an experience I had:
In a special event in the brazilian community, we had matches where the fighting forces were not allowed to use rallypoints. If you could see how players acted in battle !!! Everyone togheter and working to eatch-other to avoid downs all costs. The FEAR was present, every move had to be carefully calculed. The foward-outposts became a very important element in battle.

Please, don't increase the respawning time. It'll be very annoying after a while, especially when spawn killed or sniped from a distance.

The rambos is because of the medic system.

You know, I can see whats going to happen.

*respawn time increased to 2 minutes"

*Medics get more epipens, it takes more shots to kill someone and a 5 minute critically wounded system*

*Back to square one*

*Respawn time get increased more*

*Nothing changes with player behaviour and everyone wonders why*

The spawning time is fine imo, but I've made a thread about spawning locations

having to spend time moving from x to y is betterthan having to watch the spawn screen to spawn at y imo.

longer respawn times wouldnt bother me in fact i would like it however im afraid too many people would whine about it and the player population would go down.
