Tried the 1-life thing on a smaller scale a while back, too. It works incredibly well.

I think its the RPs that kill some potential gameplay, with the ability of a squad to simply regroup there no matter where the rest of the team are. It really makes the trucks & transport useless sometimes.

Perhaps spawning there should be removed, some limited kit requests returned and ammo supplied. Make it a proper rally point instead of a spawn point.

XKCD forums, in the middle of a perfectly sane conversation:
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Best post ever made!

30 seconds aint anything! i would be in favor of adding an extra 10 seconds to the spawntime per death. i dont mind waiting at all...not even for the collaborator spawns (although a suicide collaborator spawn is pretty long...).

to be perfectly honest...the 10 second respawn timer in vBF2 is waaaay too short for my likings. you just keep getting thrown into the action, which is something i dont like too much.

Disagree on removing RP's

RP's represents a dynamic front. If we're to spend most of our time waiting for the bus from main to get wiped out by some random rpg half way to the destination, it'll sure turn rather boring.

And just FB's wont cut it, once all are down, the FB will be over run, and then you're back lining up for a bus.

If you want the fear of death brought back then you have to fix the medic system. Period.
Or bring back headshots as I see more and more people ignoring suppression effects knowing they will be revived.

Project Reality got more arcade the second low caliber head shot deaths were removed.

-How about a Community event with upped respawn time and a ban on rally points to see how it works out?

I belive the devs were already trought something like it before in the beta-tests. But it would be not a bad idea in a public game.

[R-DEV]Rhino:"I in fact got kicked from a server for tking."

Fuzzhead:

He's one of the Devs. I'm assume from the comments that he's been pushing for something like this to happen.
