I personally think it could be removed. If you're getting rid of the pistol for the pilot for gameplay reasons (and therefor sacrificing realism to stop pilots ramboing) then it might not be a bad idea to do it for the SL.

They removed the pistol for the pilot because he would bail from the aircraft and go Ramboing behind enemy lines, taking out FOB's and such.
Can't see how this applies to the officer, as he is well equipped to kill stuff, even without the pistol.


Edit; Oh, I see what you meant now. Anyway, I don't think officers will change their gameplay just because they discover that their pistol actually kills people.

What does 1337 mean?

I'd like a pistol with a silencer on, so I can go and sneak into places and take people out stealth stylee.

You are the reason the SF kit doesn't exist anymore. You pretty much said you like trying to be l33t and are into lone wolfing not something that is looked kindly upon in this game.

Funny, a few nights ago I had the luck of playing with a skilled SL. We chased a couple of insurgents into a building and after he naded the room he opted to forgo his rifle and pulled out his pistol to dispatch the last enemy. I thought he was showing off at the time.
