Ok, you asked for it, here it is.
YouTube - Project Reality 0.85- Sniping beyond 600m range It just uploaded so the HD version on youtube will take some time to activate, as it doesnt happen right away for some reason. In anycase, you can roughly see whats going on. Hope this helps! PS: Thanks to Mora for help with rendering. PSS: Dont comment on the music, i honestly dont care, lol, seriously. Nice Vid. I just have to disagree with you when you say that a sniper should not shoot if he cant kill.
Damaging an enemy in "Save" areas will slow that sq down |

I only mean that in the sense that a sniper kit is valuable more as intel than just damaging the enemy. If that squad u are engaging is worth taking out because of a specific reason, then by all means do engage.
However because every shot you take warns the enemy of your position, i would be extremely cautious of what you shoot. It has to be worth it. There will be one guy who uv shot who is going to hold a grudge on you and he will come looking for you, and he could potentially get you. I hunt snipers like its breakfast because they sit in one spot and dont change positions after a few shots. I take their kit away and teach them hopefully to manage their position and targets more wisely next time. So thats basically my take on it. |

Go for the upper thighs with the sniper rifles. It's a bigger target then the head and it should be 1 hit kill up to just under 1000m for calibres equal to or larger than 7.62x51mm NATO (excluding the .303 round the Lee-Enfield fires).

Damn thats another thing i forgot to put in there.
Snipers are taught not to aim for the head cuz its just impractical at long distances. Too small of a target, chest area is perfect. |

You know that squad you hit on the last bit. Muttrah city, I really think that could of been my squad. Was it taken about 3/4 weeks ago? Because I remember an identical situation like that, especially the 3rd guy u hit, his body hanging out the side of the wall then it finally ended up with his torso sticking out the bottom of the stairs
