I can imagine that changing once mumble is a little more developed, seeming though it's open source there should be alot the sound DEVs can do with it.

The OP is right though, not enough people use 3rd party VoIP.

I like hearing enemies but I think that having 1 separate channel for each team would be better (keeping the squad leader channel, which is awesome and is the “radio channel”) That way, the only reason to use the bf2 VOIP would be to speak to squadmates who are not on mumble or far on the map and to the commander. No need for ts or vent anymore.

A good trick that I read somewhere on the forums is to set your bf2 voip push to talk button to the Mumble shortcut "push to mute". That way, when you use the bf2 voip, mumble is muted and people on your squad won't hear duplicate coms.
I don't agree with you. Grunt's shouldn't use Force Center Position. If they see enemy - they inform SL and SL informs other SLs about enemy position.

If you're stubborn then we can make 2 more subchanels for grunts. If they'll be using PTT everybody can hear them. If they'll use Force Center - only friendlies.

Enemies shouldn't be in your channel, because in game people are speaking completely different languages, but out of game, most people speak English.
