Here's a good idea: Have a variety of smaller, more frequent strikes that are requested by SLs and called in by commander.

Example: USA fighting on Kashan Desert

SL 1: Encountering heavy resistance at South Village! MEC has a firebase and a tank!
(Takes out GLTD, points at FOB, brings up commo rose and clicks "howitzer fire"
Sl 1: Commander, requesting fire support, now!
Commander: Copy that, fire mission recieved. Stand by for barrage.
(Off-map M109 Paladin howitzer fires)

The Soviets may have only gotten as far as East Germany, but they took the rest of the continent without firing a single shot.

NObama 2012!

Yea, it would be cool if PR's could work like that, of course with some modifications.

I'm not sure exactly how the coding works with the binoculars and (0,0) alignment, but it is awesome. One thing that I would like changed is the "ALTERNATE VIEW" option to guide the artillery rounds in. In PR, we can just use VOIP from the spotter to guide the rounds in.

On a squad level, Artillery squad would just be like any other specialized squad such as INF or TANK. There would be a spotter and a gunner. With the spotter, the gunner can fire most accurately.

Perhaps, there can be an alternate VIEW/SIGHT for the artillery gun, for targets without the spotter. Referring back to the original idea with the INFANTRY calling in ARTY with GRIDs, this alternate SIGHT will be like the grenade launcher and can offer decently accurate fire.

But this won't be so accurate depending on the range. Since its not so accurate, INF cannot abuse it by calling in VERY VERY "DANGER CLOSE" missions, or risk getting killed in the friendly fire.

I think i want to add this to the MAIN POST. thx for the vid.

Hey, I want to see all the WIC features, napalm, GAS, Clusterbombs..CO could in detail pinpoint the attacks, using relayed information from the spotter/SL.

But again that´s hardcoded!

Would be nice with 81mm mortars though.

It could be a deployable asset, only deployable near FOs by a certain pickup (not request, not spawn) kit. That would limit it to suitable maps, and suitable locations. You would of course have to be able to pick it up and move it by destroying it with python (and not with bullets/explosives or its lost until the kit respawns).

You cant use the argument that it takes too many people from the front now, you can choose how many it takes per map.
