Default 360 Controller?

First off I know everyone says the keyboard and mouse are more accurate than a console controller could ever be. However, I think I'm usually better on console games and was just wondering if anyone uses a 360 controller while playing BF2/PR?

I think there are to many buttons to slave them to a controller.

Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe

I remember someone talking about how they used a 360 controller with it set up like Ace Combat, however I stick with my joystick (and PS3 but lets keep this on-topic.)

I attempted to use my Remote Control Heli's Remote for PR flying, not for combat, just for having a little fun with some jets, however I got no luck. It would be interesting to have a go on a 360 controller and see what it was like, but I'd guess it's just like most things where you just need to get used to it.

You will need the drivers for the 360 xbox controller. I dont know where you can get them though. I think it will be possible. As i can use my older xbox controller for jets or choppers with XBCD.

I gave it a try on vanilla BF2 single player. I liked crouch, prone, reload, stuff like that but the aiming seemed a bit off. It was almost like it was snapping to coordinates where I couldnt put the cursor right on certain points. I might keep it hooked up for driving vehicles. I havnt flown choppers in awhile but it might be good for that too.

btw: XP service pack 3 includes the 360 controller drivers.

That would be me. For infantry combat, nothing beats keyboard and mouse. For vehicles, unless I'm trying to drive at a specific speed, it's still keyboard and mouse. Flying on the other hand, 360 controller works wonderfully. You've got enough buttons to map to all the right keys and if you're like me and have played a lot of flight games on an Xbox, it's much easier to get a handle on. I honestly cannot get how people fly with keyboard and mouse.

It would be severely limited in what you can bind to it. You'd have to forget about binding your weapons to a button thus forcing you to scroll through them each time. However you can get the basics down pretty good.

A 360 Controller has 14 buttons and 3 axis's... How is that not enough?

Keys used in BF2:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Tab, Q, W, E, R, T
Caps Lock, A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K
Shift, Z, X, C, V, B, N, M
Crtl, Space
Page Up, Page Down

Mouse 1, Mouse 2, Mouse Scroll, Mouse Axis Y, Mouse Axis X

That's just off the top of my head. There's more.
