I dont know but i think no game has ever increased "system requirements" after game official release, in patch-kind of form at least ? Not the minumum ones nor the recommented ones ?
But this would surely give some info for EA and Dice that ppl wants larger player limit atleast for the next Battlefield game. But afaik EA doesnt support ppl playing their older games after they have released new and similar kind of game, they want you to buy the new one. |

I read that bf2 can be hacked so that there can be up to 150 players on a server at one time - at least 128. Why not 128 (64x2) instead of 114? PR mod maps are so huge, I think they deserve a capacity of at least twice as many players. [In single player mode, there can be up to 108 bots in BF2/BF2142. The bots have to be in a squad, however, to be active - 2 teams with 6 bots in each of 9 squads.]
Actually, I would like at least a 122 player limit: 2 teams, each with 6 players in each of 10 squads plus 1 commander for each team. OR Even better: 144 (12 squads x 6 players x 2 teams) players + 2 commanders, i.e., 146 players. If BF2 can be hacked, I don't see why we'd have to petition EA. Just create a short hacked patch for the client and server files that people can download - maybe into their mod or maps folders. With quad cores & 128+ GB RAM, servers should be powerful enough these days to handle at least 256 players at a time.
