Using a standard issue riflemen (M16, for example) in scope mode, and assuming you are stationary, and also assuming that you have 0 ping, how easily should you be able to hit a moving solder at a range of 100 meters?

AY, I put 50% taking in all the factors of the game ( ping, hit detection , and thinking of gameplay ect.) but then I re-read your post. Realistically, if your target is out in the open and your sight is pointed directly at him at that close a range, and you have no reason to misfire( out of breath ect.) then the chance of hitting that target should be 75%-95%.

I voted 100% for a similar reason.
In-game, no wind, everything the same, stable M16, mouse in the correct position, (standing/crouch/prone??), theoretically you should get a hit on every shot you make. Personally, I'd say 100% prone, 85-90% crouched, 75% standing. Then comes the whole cone-of-fire/scope sway/deviation argument. Realistically, that's a different argument as well. The question didn't take that into account. Edit: The question also didn't take type of movement into account. Fast, perpendicular, erratic etc. |

assuming he's running in a linear path with no obstructions and I am crouched, 100%, but since thats rarely the case, 75% is my vote

I "should" be able to hit a moving target 100% of the time. Maybe not with every bullet but with 7 out of 10.

do you have to lead the target or just aim right on him?

it really depends. if he is moving parallel to my bearing, I usually hit and kill them. if they're moving perpendicular to my bearing, it's ****ing impossible to hit him.

100m would be a fairly easy shot with the 5.56 weapons because of its speed but it shouldnt be a pin point shot by any means. Im pretty sure this another deviation related poll and I would say it should have mostly minimal effects to it at a man sized moving target at 100m but once past that it should be significantly more difficult. Good marksmanship should not be a random occurrence is what Im saying.

Does he run directly at you, away from you or is he moving perpendicular to my bearing? If directly at me, 100%. If hes moving perpendicular, then 0-25%. If hes zizzagging, then i will pull out my AT-4...
