NO. What you all fail to see is that I'm right. And therefore, if you disagree, you are, simply, wrong. Like, terribly.

If you get confused when I say March before the number then I dont know. Maybe you just need to be pushed around from the balcony w/ the other vegetables to your white room every few hours on rotation.

I dont think anyone here is really serious. They all make sense when you grow up using them. Sooner or later you hear the month, sooner or later you hear the day, and you sometimes hear the year when its needed.

Anyone who seriously believes one way is actually superior to another is just looney

Yeah I think the brit and jap standard are probably better for writing though and the american standard sounds better when said.

I think many more official US type documents also use the dd/mm/yyyy format. it really depends. A lot of my scholarship paper work for japan was like that, but then again, might just be because some of that goes to Japan to be looked at..

lol, also you really shouldnt get too used to saying 'jap' lol,I learned that one really quickly. Even thoguh you dont mean anything by it it does carry some weight..

I told a teacher i was in JAP302 and he made sure I knew not to say that again lol Now I say Japanese or JPNS

In the Netherlands we use

(day of the week) dd/mm/yyyy

That's in line how we say it..

'Het is vandaag donderdag 13 maart 2008'

As the topicstarter says.. 'the american way is used'

We all have got our own way of speaking and writing things down.

But I love you because you are different.

I love us because we are MORE together.

It is good as it is.

We are now all like,.. the moon and the stars, filling up the sky together, we can't do without each other!

Lol.

I think we should add some more emotion to this topic

P.S. The moon stands for The Netherlands, The biggest, the best.. and the most shiny.

(well, maybe not the biggest, but still the best )

The american way makes sense when you're writing it out fully (July 19th 2008,for example) but when you go to compress it,it doesn't work so well 7/19/08.
So both have good and bads points

lol, how does writing it out not work so well? lol

theres seriously no drawback to any of them, the only reason they get confusing is because you are used to one.

the only time the euro way messes me up is when i see something like 12/8/2008 and I have to guess if its Dec 8th or August 12th. And the only reason THATS confusing is because I dont know which method its using...

QFT only the american standard is the one that mixes me up....because I use the brit/euro standard.
