My theory for the development of the American date system is how we say/write it. When we write somthing we write April 1st, 2008. So 4/1/08 fits naturaly to us.

Look i know you dont want to hear this guys but the reason we use American format is because America is the best country in the world. And being as that may we must all meet her needs.

Canada only gained complete 100% independence in 1982
Smallest to Largest is much more intuitive to me. When writing it I recall fist what the day is, then so on. Simply read it: the Fifth of March 1974. |
