Default Beginner’s appreciation for the PRM development team efforts.

Hi. I’m relatively new to PRM having played for only a few hours. Am still learning (and reading and watching game play videos on Utube) and really enjoying the game.

I only had to play BF2 a few hours to realize it was simply DoD with planes and artillery and gave up on it.

As I was looking for an immersive , realistic game to play I had bought Armed Assault on impulse but the box lied. It barely runs on my system so it sits on the shelf collecting dust.

THEN I discover Project Reality AFTER blowing almost $50.00.

The few games I’ve managed to play have, for the most part, been awesome. Squads working and sticking together to compete an objective, VOIP situation chatter from the squad. Loved it.

I die a thousand deaths but hopefully that will improve over time as I have to relearn how to play a FPS after years of DoD (a great game BTW but a totally different game. One simply can’t compare the two.) Bonus though, I eventually have enough of a re spawn time to grab a snack or beer between spawns.

I’ve also run into squads that were spread over the 4 quadrants of a map with no direction from the SL at all. I’m thinking the only reason he wanted to be SL was so he could get a sniper kit.

These games weren’t that much fun as I was left to wonder the map virtually on my own having to follow and support non-squad member so I was oblivious to any communications between them.

These times weren’t wasted however as I used them to practice the various techniques etc. applicable to PRM and try out the different classes.

I came to the conclusion that when playing PRM , like all FPS out there , it depends more on WHO you play with rather than WHAT you play. Fortunately PRM seems to attract the more mature team oriented player.

Big hugs and kisses to the PRM crew (man I sure hope there’s some women in there otherwise I’m gonna feel like a real idiot).

We know

Welcome

Well, almost everyone regrets buying BF2 and other arcade shite, when they discover PRM...I know I regret the 12 euros Ive spent extra on getting Special Forces expansion, only to get uber-nilla n00bs, tear gas whoring and flashbangs...

I bought DoD a while ago as it sounded like a more tactical game I think I played it for a month or two simply so I didn't feel like I waisted the money, haven't played it since.

PR is so far ahead in the teamwork and realism aspects compared to any other game I have played

I would also suggest (if you can find the time to play) the Red Orchestra mod from steam. You can buy it through steam as a stand alone game. It is really very good, doesn't require a killer computer and is rewarding to play. The teamwork isn't as consistantly good as PR but it has the potential.

Welcome to the best online FPS!

What is your in-game nick? I will look out for you in the game. You sound like the kind of material I want for my squads. I can also answer pretty much any questions you might have about all the rules of the hope and hopefully teach you a thing or two about tactics.

That is so true, if your SMs aren't up-to-date on how to play PR or work together, a game can be very unpleasant to stay focused on gaining any ground...
