There's no point in doing this. Tournaments like that already exist, let them continue to do their job. If you open another one, all you would be doing is saturating that field more and more. Not only that, but the amount of coorination it involves in building and organizing a torunament of that scale is overwhelming.

this seems interesting really, I myself just wanted to start a ladder/tournament. But if this one turns out ok, I might recommend it.

If you want to see how a tourney should be run check out ForgottenHonor. That is one of the most kickass tourneys to this date.

In perticular check out how they run the campaigns... it's baised on actuall battles with chapters and such just read some of the news post to get the main jist of it. They make all their custom maps for the tourney to fit to the real life battles.

This would kickass with this mod and it would fit the realism perfectly. With an awesome Iraq Campaign in the same fasion... wrather than just doing the usual ordinary trivial through people on some rushed custom maps and everything...

Do it like that and I'd say the tourney would have great potential.

ive been a member at 21cw a year now and i will be the first to admit that its by no means perfect, but i still enjoy it because of the style of play and the friends iv made there ever since i joined tournaments i almost hardly ever pub because it just doesnt compare

i dont think thats the case, i think it would be very possible for a tournament based on realism to succed those tournaments are different but which an interesting structure good mapping and solid leadership it could open up and find its own nitch with players who want a realism style gameplay, i think it would be comparable to AA on a larger scale

i also think it has to be made very clear for anyone that hasnt heard of 21cw, planet combat, WaW, TW or any of thouse tournaments that these ARE NOT CLAN LADDERS there for individual players, many people who participate are in there own clans seperately, its about a much larger scale of action

simply put once you played in a kick ass 32 v 32 player BATTLE a wimpy liike 8 v 8 or 12 v 12 clan scrim just seems SO boreing in comparison

If we have enough clans participating is there any reason why we can't have a "doubles" match where two clans played against two other clans?

from my talks with req and his feelings that it be set up like 21cw or planet combat, it wont be for clans it will be for players you wont have your clan tags youll have your divisional tags

that being said if joe from ABC clan meets john from DEF clan and they wanna go srim some random tuesday on your own servers or something nobodys gonna care

Usually specialized mods such as ours (realism in this case) don't always attract full clans, so such a tournament would be catering to the following types:

- Players who are not in clans, but wish to take part in an organized way of play.

- Players who are in clans, yet the clan as a whole is not interested or does not have the time to sacrifice to another ladder/league. This player then has an opportunity to keep playing competitively.

Hope this clears it up a little.

Well I don't really care, I would not play in the tournament but if people wanted to have a tournament like this they by all means should.

i have to agree with beck i myself am also a member of 21cw, and yes nothing is perfect however its a breath of fresh air from the norm of vanila bf2 also a place to make excellent friends that are hard core players and down with gettin better and playin harder at the game.

however please dont sit there and preach to the rain sayin 21cw is a waste of time and theres lots of things wrong with it. you can simply say its not for you and leave it at that.. but i can also agree with other posters another tounry would just flood the market with yet another tourney..I can already think of off the top of my head like 10 different tourney style places...

personally i would rather see less talk about tourney style play and more about how is development of this mod comin along? how close to the next release is .2? how close to a final release of the mod are you? ... personaly those are more important things to talk about then weather or not you can have a tourney
