I guess I'm the only person who gets annoyed the hell out of at the wide-spread usage of "Seals" as opposed to "SEALs"

I don't see what the point would be other than being able to say there are SEALs in the game. Esp in a huge battlefield like Bf2, they are not a force that would be riding into a random battle with Marines.

Again, the point of having a limited specops class would be to represent the realism in direct support missions. Any "huge battlefield" missions are supported by special operations. They don't ride into random battles with Marines, they make it safer for the marines ahead of time. So, in this case.. and especially with the new commander assets.. they do have a vital and important role if played right.. they can do a lot of damage behind enemy lines and take out important enemy assets... and should be able to do so without being detected.

Wasn't me.

It's an interesting idea, but I doubt it will play well in game.

But why the SEAL's? Isn't it supposed to represent U.S. Marine Corps?!

For a Special Forces unit to be realistic it should at least be equipped with the correct name (yes, yes, I know...the Navy is connected with the Marines). If PR is depicting USMC, then make the S.F. group Force Recon. Or even Green Berets (as they're more likely to assist regular infantry than the SEAL's - or so I believe).

And by gosh!! Dev's: If you're going to eliminate the current Special Forces class and put into works a different "style" of S.F. kit, then please give them an objective, and make it so they can complete that objective.

There will be objectives for them.. and PR is depicting more than the USMC, they are depicting the combined armed forces. USMC, Navy, Army, and Airforce are all in.

Wasn't me.

Not the only person, but I usually use it as an excuse about how the US is the only country in the world to train is SF troops to balance beach balls on thier noses rather than fight wars.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

MEC had controle of 2 out of 5 flags on the oil rig,

'twas a friggin sweet map, since all the floor was mesh you could shoot down and up, plus all the gantries and pipes and crane arms made for some brilliant tactics and hiding spots. + you could also climb underneath the rigs on the metal walk ways and such underneath the main platform. there were towers, buildings, crates etc.

THAT MAP ROCKED, i was part of a knife fighting clan, we would challenge other clans to knife fights on the rig until we 'pwned' them too much and they had to use guns, so we had to 'pwn' them again until they left...

Thankyou for making me remember the good old times
Thank you! Thank you for actually replying in a serious manner And bringing this thread back to what i wanted it to be.(A discussion on the possiblitiy of a new side in the game)
