OK er.. I get that and... uh..... yes it's a problem, but I've logged a lot of hours in v0.5 and don't think I have seen this situation occur more than once or twice....

also dylan we want to try and encourage players NOT to drive off with an APC without a gunner.

I will be putting up some more training sessions as well as hopefully 'guides' to driving and gunning for APCs/Tanks in the near future.

and as for infantry: dont get in an APC if you see it dont have a driver/gunner. only if you have no other option... because the guy driving, probably is not the most reliable player because he took off without a gunner, and just dont give a shit about the people in the back.

You guys are away that the server today was just crashing people to desktop whenever they joined?? Usually after the loading was done it would crash me and SoldierofFortune, and it was empty all day so im guessing most others to.

yeah we fixed that with an update to the server, works OK now, but still need more testing on it. Preferably a nice crowded and lengthy round on a vehicle heavy map like Oman.

Was playing on the server in jabal with 3 players total I believe, then all got disconnected after voting to sunset city when the map changed. Now it's on ejod, haven't tried to connect.

When the server went to Oman no one was able to get any kits - the Qmaster was telling us we got them but nothing happened when we hit our keys to get the kit. Before a squad mate told me it happen before - in both cases the server was restarted to correct it.

I am guessing you already know this information but I thought I would report it anyways.

I was always very happy by driving off without a gunner in 0.506 because an APC is the most important spawn point for the whole team. There is no need for a gunner if you place the APC somewhere hidden, near the city in EJOD for example. You could switch to gunner position to defend it, but that is not necessary since all the infantry spawning is the best defense. It was always very annoying and big damage for the team when the gunner switched to driver seat after I placed it and wrecked it within the next 30 seconds. So I tended to stay in the driver or gunner seat, seeing one infantry spawning every 5 seconds if well placed. We easily won Qwai once while having only one squad (squad bug) in our team. I managed to join the squad and drove the APCs. My opinion.... no gunner needed. Having a gunner often leads to misuse of APCs as attack vehicles, which is a big mistake due to its light armored nature. The 5 enemies you can kill with an attack do not compensate the 100+ friendlies spawning while keeping it alive.

While driving the APC my only concern are the guys in the back and keeping the spawn point alive in a good spot. Enemy APCs enjoy highest "Take out"-priority to me, give me a sight and you are done.

I had this happen on Oman also. None of our team could take off of the carrier because we couldn't get pilot kits.
