    3D Scopes

    update on the update video.

the marked area in this picture is the inside of the scope. it's an area really not seen if your head is at the proper distance from the lens (but the person holding the camera was slightly off and didn't care because the sight picture was decent anyway)

notice how the black area on the right side of the sight picture is smaller. it's kinda difficult to take pictures through scopes. i've tried.

this below is the optimal sight picture. the sight picture is reaching all the way out into the scope corners without any black.

btw, the scopes above might have adjustable magnification (being the long, classic scope), like from 4x and up to 12x maybe, while the acog in question is 4x fixed magnification, but it really functions the same.

so yeah, the acog style models in world at war and mw1 are pretty stupid with like a tunnel. you don't get that with magnified scopes.

hmm... i'd say make it look real and don't think about the FOV that much. the black tunnel will deduct more from reality than a slightly larger FOV.

maybe put the scope itself further away from the player to accommodate the small FOV. seeing the black inside of a magnified optic just looks wrong imo (after using some myself).
