A new menu background movie for the upcoming Project Reality v0.95!

The video itself does not have any sound, but there's a very nice soundtrack playing in the PR menu, if you have music enabled.

It's the v0.95 trailer, with a lot of scenes removed, to decrease filesize, but keep the awesomeness in ;).

Hope you like it!

AD Framework v1.1 released!

Today, a new version of the *AD Framework* has been released!

Today, a new version of the AD Framework has been released!

If you don't know what this is, in short, the AD Framework provides Server Administrators with easy ways to administrate their server in-game.

Don't close the window, read on, as there are changes that also benefit you.

How do I recognize enabled servers?

The new version has a "sponsor message" built-in, which displays a message every five minutes, saying "This server is powered by the AD Framework". This is a message of appreciation towards me, but also a notification towards you, as this means you are allowed to use certain commands.
Please note this message is optional, Server Administrators can disable it. By default, it's turned on.

So what's in it for me?

!shownext
People always want to know what the next map is. Instead of asking a server admin, simply type "!shownext" in any chat (squad, team or global) and you'll receive the answer in a personal message, which gets displayed on the top of the screen. By default, you'll also hear a beep.

!report, !r
Now also available, a report function. If you use !report (or short, !r), your report will be sent to all in-game administrators. How to use this? Easy, simply type "!report [partial playername] [reason]" in any chat. For example: !report somename stealing assets.

!version
If you're interested what version the server is running and want to know which modules are enabled, simply use this command. It will send you a personal message with the requested information.

I want to know more!

Feel free to read the Installation and User Guide, to know more about the possibilities of the AD Framework.

I hope both Server Administrators as well as players will enjoy this new version!

[early wip]

Some (new) features:
- Register multiple servers under one account
- Rights management (administrator/moderator usergroups)
- Moderators can't see the RCON password
- Manage a server's map rotation online
- Kick/ban players
- More server information available
- Players are displayed in two teams, instead of one long list
- Entirely new design
- ...

More to come soon!

Version 1

Perhaps this tool is more known to server admins. Here's a blog about the current version.

I made an Online Admin tool for server administrators. It let's server admins control their server through a webtool. No need to install anything, just go to this tool, log in using your hostname (or IP), RCON password and port and you're good to go.

You can easily kick/ban players off the server, add/remove maps, restart a map, run the next, etc.

The tool is still in development, but current online version is stable, so ready for use. The next feature that's going to be implemented is most probably a user management shell, so "superadmins" can have better control over their admins, plus they don't have to give out their RCON password, etc.

Nothing that spectacular this time, but I think it would be good to share this info with you;

I've decided to put all my (public) Python-work on a website: AD Framework. This way, I can easily manage all the files and post a lot of information about them.

The site contains serverside Python modules for: in-game administration, smart balancing, a chatlogger, etc. They are free to download and free to use. Check out the site for more information!

How it all began
I started playing Project Reality at the end of 2006, became a forummember in February 2007 and since then been hooked on PR.

Cinematics
I started out as a regular player. Later on got interested in making videos. I think it was halfway 2007 when I made my very first gameplay video. I had some video editting experience from previous amateur projects and wanted to focus on game videos. Around that time I was also a tester for PR.
After doing some videos I got "noticed" by 'the team' and as a result I got promoted to R-CON. My job was to work together with [R-DEV]UKForce and make a video for the British Army. The goal of the project was to show how a game like Project Reality could simulate a realistic approach to possible reallife situations. Unfortunately it was too much work and couldn't fit in a single PR release (it started in 0.6 beta and continued until after 0.7's release).

After several months serving PR I got promoted to R-DEV. I'm responsible for organizing filming sessions and create teaser and trailer videos from them (like the 0.8 trailer and 0.85 teaser).

I hope to bring you more visual goodness in the future. In the mean time, why not check out my youtube: http://www.youtube.com/AfterDune

Coding
I'm a programmer in real life and somewhere in 2008 got interested in Python programming for BF2. I'm still active in this department and regularly release new versions of my ingame admin and smartbalance scripts.

Community Faction: Dutch Armed Forces
Together with [R-CON]Glimmerman I started the development of the Dutch Armed Forces for PR. I'm responsible for pretty much every technical aspect. Think of creating test builds, mapmaking, implementing weapons/vehicles/textures as well as creating and/or adjusting them.

Mapping
I always liked mapping but sucked at it. The BF2 Editor is a bitch to get used to (at least that's my opinion), but once you make friends with her, she's alright. Right now I'm mapping for the Dutchies: Raid At Dawn and Tarin Kowt are my children :).

Well I guess that's all I have to say for now. Hope you enjoyed reading it. And if you don't, well I don't care :D.
