Was experimenting some more with the Chinese armor patterns, and this is what I found when going through my archive of work I've done for PR. It is more than likely never going to appear, as it doesn't seem to work or look good due to the complexity of the skin on a UV map that just wasn't designed for it.
I'm almost finished with my 1 set of exams for the year, so will be more active now after next week. I've got my internet almost working ok in halls, even though I can't play and games like PR or steam
Anyway enjoy the results!

When i watched the 2009 parade, I litterally facepalmed upon seeing the digicamo on vehicles : completely ridiculous. It was like "look at how modern the PLA is, we do digicamo ! And everywhere too !", blind copy without thinking about the efficiency. They painted missile carriers and frigging amphibious APCs in blue with huge white pixels...
I'd be curious to know if there is any good reason to paint vehicles like that.
All of this to say, no matter how close to reality PR strives to be, I am glad this camo pattern is not going to be included. Although with this pixel-retro style being sort of artsy I suppose it fits better in a game than in reality.
Now if we could only get the red stars back...Posted 01-21-2010 at 10:16 AM by Guybrush
