Loaded onto TG again for another quick run, this time on Kashan. I saw Royaljoe as an infantry squad so decided to tag along with him, creating my own infantry squad and hoping that we can get 12 infantry working together.

He was assaulting the north bunkers objective so I spawned at an FO in the south bunkers and made my way on foot to him:
We slowly started building our squad head counts, our goal was to get 6 in each squad. Me, Joe and Tofu pulled back to a group of containers to rally with our reinforcements that were coming from the rear:

At this point, I had to get back in the server since wegame was getting detected by TG punkbuster as a disallowed program :( I recorded the rest of the video on xfire, but unknown to me you have an upload limit of 10 minutes per clip on xfire, and the clip I recorded was 30+ minutes. So I'll have to edit the video in vegas and upload to youtube in 10 minutes chunks. ETA a couple hours and Ill finish this AAR.
Loaded onto TG for a quick round before work. Joined R.Sughart's squad as he was the only one not in the main base. He was at an Forward Outpost and constructing defenses with his squad, I joined in as a medic.

At this point I realized my VOIP wasnt working. To record in xfire I have to "enable" my microphone, so that I hear my own voice in my headphones. Its a bit annoying but you get used to it, and its the only way to record your own voice AFAIK.

I had to go AFK for 10 min, came back to see that everyone was dead at the FO and it was completely wiped out, I assumed he got hit hard by the Talibans. Sughart stopped the Humvee he was driving to let me spawn on an RP, I got in the car and we pulled up to a village as a firefight was already underway, heres what happened:

Since Everyone got wiped out by me and Outlawz, we fell back along the river to a halfway point between our RP and the village. We waited there in cover until our Squad Leader arrived with reinforcements.

In hindsight, I should not have tried reviving someone in such a hostile area, as well I should not have went upstairs without proper support or getting a grenade up top, things probably would have gone better if I wasnt so rash in that building, I wasnt really thinking that was the cache building hehe. It was definitely my fault for going first and not being cautious enough or requesting backup.

After destroying cache, we wanted to get extract via chopper. What follows can only be described, as retarded:

Summary

Good game, was short but kind of fun, if somewhat disorganized. The cache destroyed was literally the ONLY cache destroyed that whole round, So I wonder what the USMC team was doing before I joined, other than sitting there with a finger up their ass?

We moved onto a ridge over looking the next objective, and Sandiford started engaging some infantry there, and we heard some armor movements but it was out of range. There was some FAIL driving by SilverJohn, but admittedly it was not the best choice to bring these highly sensitive vehicles up a big mountain, but to my credit I WAS following Sandiford's lead :P
We took alot of damage coming down off the ridge and nearly exploded but SilverJohn managed to get us upright with his new BRDM that NorthPlum kindly lended our squad. This is when we realized what a clusterfck the rest of our team was. They were all holed up at Estate with no means to attack, and had basically built their own grave. All logistics trucks and technicals were abandoned haphazardly around the map. The nearest logistics to us was at Estate but it was trapped inside because the ones who built the defenses didnt think about if the rest of the team might have needed it :P So we waited a long time for our repairs to arrive while the enemy gained ground.
We finally got repaired and headed to the east end of the map again to go hunter-killer on the tanks. We got near the eastern checkpoint but our team had blockaded it quite extensively, but just as we got there APC contacts were called in and were circling the Estate. We made our way towards contact and succesfully destroyed both APC. Sadly I didnt record that :( Shortly After destroying the 2 APC's another APC was hidden in woods and succesfully destroyed both our BRDM's. Was definitely my fault for being a bit too reckless driving through an open area, sadly I dont have video of that either.
After this I was getting a bit frustrated with lack of comms from rest of team so decided it was easier just to go as an Infantry squad. Sandiford took over the Spandrels and I formed an infantry squad with the following:

Squad 1 (WAC INF):
fuzzhead - Officer
SilverJohn - Auto Rifleman
Briznead - Rifleman
Wookie - Medic

Our team (predictably) lost the Estate and now our Main Base was being over run. My squad tried desperately to fend off the attackers, coordinating with Techmaster's infantry squad to try to clear out the hostiles.
After getting whopped on that hill we decided to do something more humble and simply clear out a sniper that was firing on our troops at the Chechen Fortress. He was a sneaky one, we killed him but we didnt know it right away. Big "dumb dumb" points for myself for being the first in a patrol line and looking BEHIND me... got to learn to stop doing that so much when Im close to enemy contact, I was checking to see if the rest of my squad was following as they were lagging behind often, usually only SilverJohn was in formation with everyone else kind of trailing waaay behind. Not sure if it was my fault for not dealing with them properly or if they were just not paying much attention.
Player Recommendations:

SilverJohn: Auto Rifleman. Had to be on the phone multiple times but was always sticking close and following orders, did a great job on the PKM surpressing targets. You dont notice in the video but all targets we were engaging had scopes, while poor SilverJohn had only ironsites on his PKM. He did a great job all things considered. And dont worry about flipping the car lol I did as well :P

Sandiford: Spandrel Commander. A pleasure as always, excellent support role in the Spandrel, he picked up our slack and accomplished what my squad failed to do, good job!

MixOlydian: Commander. Great job on commanding, pleasure to have a good commander that listens and responds very quickly. He seemed to be getting disconnected constantly but always joined back, would play under him again in a heartbeat, its always more fun to have a Commander, and him stepping up IMO was the only reason our team did not lose ALL our objectives.

Joined TG for a round, came in the middle of a Qinling round that was well underway. Our team appeared to be doing well, having pushed the enemy back and attacking the CP before the final base.

I wanted to create a squad but all 9 squad slots were taken, most by 1 or 2 man squads that didnt seem to be doing anything. So I joined with Sandiford who was doing an APC squad and whos gunner just got killed/disconnected. I met him at main base and we got in an APC and headed off to support Squad 9. Soon after we had a rush of requests to transport various squads, a sniper squad and 2 infantry squads (one let by mat552). There was also a transport helicopter operating but from the look of the text chat, he didnt really know what he was doing and most squads opted to be driven by APC, if that was any indication of how poor his flying mustve been ;)
The enemy firebase was destroyed along with some infantry.

We then moved directly onto the hill to support infantry up close, but we did not have much cohesion with the infantry on the ground and they were getting destroyed. An enemy attack helicopter came to the area, it was scared off temporarily but came back later with vengeance.

A hostile APC was engaged and destroyed by myself, but we (stupidly) ran out of ammo and nearly died. The infantry in the area were asking for APC evac, Sandiford wanted to bug out to get the hell outta there since we took damage from the APC duel. I requested to pickup the friendly infantry since I know how bad it feels to be deserted out there and left to die. Sadly we didnt get there in time and the ones that requested the APC pickup were long dead, and all the other infantry in the area were just clueless and getting slaughtered. Then the enemy Attack Helicopter returned and we were destroyed.
Back at base now, I decided to make a mechanized infantry squad since all the other squads seemed sluggish and none were using mumble so coordinating with them was a pain. Not sure why they were so spread out but they were. By the time the whole squad was picked up, we had lost all flags and the Farm was going neutral.

Areas of Concern / Improvements:

- Big lack of cohesiveness with the infantry and the rest of the assets. It felt like each squad was doing their own thing with no organisation or communication between the squads

- No defense. We had 3 squads attacking PLA FOB before the other objective was captured, this ultimately led to our downfall. When the Hill objective went back to enemy hands, we had all our man power sitting on their uncaptureable final CP. This meant the enemy was free to walk through the other flags and cap us out, and all these squads were always 2 steps behind and had no transport.

- Helicopter Transport was abysmal. Crashed alot of helicopters and never did much usefulness besides inserting squads at flags that could not be captured (ie: PLA FOB)

- APC Gunners should pay alot closer attention to their ammunition levels especially before engaging high threat targets...

Positive Sustains:

- Good coordination between Sandiford and our mech inf squad at the end, we had a really hectic battlefield in front of us with tons of targets, lag and nasty air units and Sandi kept his cool and helped us the best he could.

- Nice FOB position built near the coal mine even though it was unused from what I could see.

- Good comms between the CO (royal marines joe) and the jet which bombed the tank in the last video clip. It was a hectic environment and proper comms was not followed but regardless the jet knew what he was doing, and joe relayed info very quickly.

Player Recommendations:

Sandiford: APC Driver. always a pleasure to gun for him, he knows when to move, when to stay put (and provide stable firing platform) when to fall back to base, best places to get good lines of fire, spots targets consistently with attack markers... overall excellent APC driver.

Royal marines joe: Commander. relays info quickly and effectively and gets the job done but does not talk down to squads but rather tries to work with them, recommend as CO anytime.

Summary

Overall, it was an okay session but prety forgettable. The lack of cohesion and all squads doing their own thing really makes this map and other 4km maps feel prety hopeless. More squad leaders using voice comms like mumble or TS would help this greatly.

Joined RT with the intent to play with Spriggan, he had an idea to make 3 infantry squads consisting of 4 squad members each, and having the whole group act as one squad with alpha, bravo, charlie fireteams.

Spriggan was leading and we loaded in a bit late, created our squads and had Spriggan as Alpha, fuzzhead as Bravo and TannhauserX as Charlie. We were a bit late with organizing all the squads, and each fireteam then got airlifted one by one by AnimalMother, who dropped us at the docks CP. After many minutes of waiting, all 3 fireteams were landed at the docks but then dispersed somewhat. On the way in Bravo (my squad) took AA missle fire and lost our Rifleman AT. Most of the rest of the team was still on the carrier and bickering about assets.

Spriggan made the call to advance to north city, although the rest of the team was nowhere to be found and our 3 squads (12 player) were the only ones holding a presence at docks at the time.

All 3 fireteams were widely spread out, and started advancing towards the North City. As bravo and charlie arrived near the perimeter fencing of the docks Charlie squad made contact with a large enemy force along with a BTR60. Charlie became pinned and Alpha and Bravo started heading back towards them to help.

Alpha and Bravo could not effectively help Charlie in a timely manner, and themselves got pinned as a BTR60 drove by, neither fire team had any AT and became pinned inside a house. The enemy quickly and effectively began firing on the house with MG fire and then a sniper at the hotel began engaging the house as well. Alpha took several casualties as they attempted to move closer to the docks, and the whole squad got cut down in the open by an MG. Bravo attempted to recover the wounded but were then assaulted by an infantry squad and wiped out.

No firebase was constructed at the docks, and the rest of the team was wiped out. The APC on our team was disabled and made a desperate last stand at the docks CP, fighting off infantry in very closer quarters, but ultimately the crew was killed and the APC abandoned and eventually killed.

Alpha, Bravo and Charlie attempted 3 times to re-establish a presence at the docks but each time were completely wiped out, the enemy was fast to react and used good cover and suppression fire to deny us any ground.

Heres a video AAR of a classic example of bad communication on an assault. I'll give a brief talk through and then you can watch the video and see the mistakes made.

Squad 7 (Bravo squad) was to advance to clear contacts close to the objective area. Squad 8 (Charlie squad) was to provide overwatch and suppresive fire.

Squad 7 advances to contact, begins engaging but was unsuccesful in routing the enemy. The key moment here was when Squad 7 failed to clear the enemy from the crates. At this moment Squad 7 should have either pulled back or asked Squad 8 to advance. Squad 8 did not communicate that they were under fire, neither did they communicate that they were unable to continue to provide suppressive fire, so Squad 7 was left exposed and vulnerable to flanking.

On an assault its very important to coordinate with your other fireteams, and its CRITICAL that the supporting element provide effective suppressive fire until the assaulting element has made it to cover or has killed the enemy. This did not happen and as you can see, the attack failed because of it.

Also note that Squad 8 did not report the enemy APC that rolled on top of Squad 7, this means Squad 8 was not in a good overwatch position as they did not see the APC until it was too late, and they had a Heavy AT to deal with the threat but he was not deployed properly. IF Squad 8 was under fire and could not cover, this should have been relayed to Squad 7 so they could pull back from the assault. This is a very common mistake that is made when dealing with 2 squads, its critical to pass important information between the 2 squads, even if you think its unnecessary the supporting element MUST relay info like when they are under fire, when they are moving etc so the assaulting element knows that they are not under friendly overwatch.

It was not purely Squad 8's fault, Squad 7 was to blame as well for lack of communication, but hopefully lesson learned and hope others can learn from this very common mistake.

After USMC tried a few more attacks, they eventually ran out of tickets due to bleed, and the MEC won with over 150 tickets, a decisive victory due to their speedy manuvering and their good tactics, along with the USMC being sluggish on start and little cohesion, along with no support from CAS for the infantry.

Player Recommendations:

JouninSpriggan: even though we failed as a squad and team, it was a good effort and unique idea, hopefully can be fleshed out a bit more in the future and applied when the enemy is not as keen, to give some time to practice before applying it in a highly competitive and tough scenario like we had experienced (fighting against veterans in an amphibious assault with 1 SL we were unfamiliar of working with).

AnimalMother: provided excellent transport for most of the round, did not get shot down, was placed in good LZ's, the first landing and AA missle was very good evasive manuvering, the AA missle hit a flare and was just bad luck that our Rifleman AT caught the shrapnel from the explosion.

Tannhauser: good effort on trying out the 3 fireteams, shows promise for more squad leading, just need more time working together to get a feel for each others leading style and comms procedures.

job187: excellent SAW gunner provided good support fire even in bad circumstances, would love to have in squad again.

Another round on Reality Teamwork, right after our disappointing performance on Muttrah City. I was expecting a simular outcome on Operation Barracuda and although it worked better than I thought, we still had some major issues.

This was Barracuda 16 which if you havnt played, is ONLY rhibs for USMC. Once they take an objective they get a logistics truck and a vehicle depot spawning near the docks. With that knowledge we set out to capture that area first so we can establish a beach head and fight from there.

The objectives were North Rock Fort and the Swamp. AnimalMother was the CO and I was acting as platoon sergeant on the ground (or trying to anyways lol). Our plan initially was to do a "dry run" amphibuous assault on an eastern beach near the docks, which was expected to have light or no enemy presence. After that beach was taken, we would setup a support element on the cliffs over watching the swamps and would proceed to do an amphibuous beach landing at the swamp and take it with force as the support element surpressed any enemy troops there.

Things were going well, except we had a squad (led by Fighter) break off from the main battle group and head to a different objective. This was against CO orders and that squad acted as a rogue element for the rest of the game, completely detached from the rest of the team. This player is known to do this frequently, and I dont recommend being in a squad with him, although to each their own, I just dont enjoy players with that kind of attitude.

Squad 1, 2, 4 hit the beach near the docks with no contact, we moved up the cliffs to make sure it was all clear, and then left squad 4 there as the supporting element.

Squad 1 and 2 made it back to the boats and loaded up. Another couple squads were driving around aimlessly in the boats and joined us on our assault line out in the ocean.

Unfortunately Squad 4 was spotted and started a firefight with the troops on the beach. They started taking casualties and it was a now or never scenario so we drove to the beach.

A 50cal was overwatching the ocean and started opening fire on the 4 boats. Miraculously none of the boats got destroyed, all SAWs and passengers were firing like mad at the enemys position, they were all over the beach and inside the concrete defense area. It was a really cool thing to watch and Im an idiot for not capturing it on video, there was tracers everywhere from the defenders, the boats and squad 4 on the hill, tracers galore.

We got on the beach and killed some enemy but there was just not enough cover and we took too long to storm the enemy positions. The enemy started respawning on the firebase even though we were only 75 meters from it (GODAMNIT DBZAO....) so we had a disadvantage and slowly the enemy outnumbered us.

We did a second wave of boats from the carrier to help the survivors on the beach, and managed to overcome the enemy, destroy the firebase and drive the counterattackers back. Squad 4 moved down off the cliffs to support this effort.

A success story but after that everything went to shit. All squads besides Spriggan and myself went off on their own to capture the North Rock fort, and the enemy saw this and began aggressively attacking the swamp. After 15-20 min, Spriggan and my squad were out of ammo and getting constant enemy attacks, the swamp got overrun and the enemy took it back, and Squad 1 and 2 were forced back to the firebase near the docks that Squad 7 had built.

There was some firefights from the cliffs overwatching the swamps, and some lucky PLA player had got some good ambushes on both our squads from sneaking behind. We eventually also lost the docks firebase and whole region, as the enemy used some clever tactics and hit from a good position.

So Squad 1 and 2 decided to help at the North Rock fort, and that is what you see in the video below, the squads moving in from the carrier to the east side of the island and deploying near Squad 4s RP to assist those squads in an assault on North Rock Fort.

We made some cool leapfrog tactics where one squad would hold and surpress while another squad would bound in front. It was a bit clumsy and sloppy, but it was working and slowly we gained ground on the North Rock Fort even with them using HMG's and rifles/lmgs to sweep our advancement. We used some trench lines to good effort to creep forward. We ended up assaulting right up to the North Rock Fort where a bunch of enemy were held up, but it cost us many lives to get there and even more to clear it out, and tickets ran out shortly after it was captured.

A good round but would have been better with a bit more cooperation with all squads and especially if squads would listen to CO orders better.
Animal Mother: Commander. Excellent work on commanding, did good job on marker placement and good job communicating, shame some squads didnt want to cooperate more.

LeChuckle: great job on the medic, did your best even with the heavy casualties.

BDR$h00ttok1ll: good job on surpressing, was good to have a supporting element even if you got seen a bit too early.

Joined TG for a round of Fools Road. Played a previous round and FullKontact was up for doing some combined infantry tactics. Sorted out the squad then moved to the village on foot as the 1st objective was quite close to our Russian mainbase where we started.

We had to move on foot as our team had no armor or APC squads that wanted to communicate or work together, so we had no other transport. This was a bad omen and was foreshadowing for what would happen the rest of the round.

FullKontact had to wait at mainbase to get his squad members to join up and kitted out as he was late on joining in. After we built a firebase at the village, I decided to go to the first objective with my squad alone.

We made it mostly up the hill and I had a bad feeling. Sure enough, upon cresting the hill, I saw a faint silhouette about 250m out, and I knew right away the enemy had rushed to get to an ambush position on our 1st objective. I didn't react fast enough and was hit bad by a 50cal from an enemy technical and my squad was taking heavy fire. We did not have a firing position and the enemy had a great angle on us so we just hugged the ground and prayed for the shooting to stop. My squad did not react too well to contact and several of them exposed themselves and were shot. A medic from another squad (Outlawz) came to revive me and did a good job considering the amount of fire coming in, which was constant and very accurate, it must have been a couple PKM's in addition to a 50cal.

Eventually I was revived and the rest of the squad regrouped and we shifted left into cover. There was some friendly squads moving up and trying to flank the enemy but it was slow going as the terrain was extremely steep. My squad got some suppression on the enemy and killed a couple and they seemed to back off.

We regrouped and were attacked by sporadic 1 man lonewolves, then we decided to move onto the enemies old position.
Upon nearing the crest of the hill the enemy ambushed us once again, wiping out most of the squad using extremely close quarter rifle fire and grenades.

We eventually made it up the hill, only to realize that the entire enemy team had gotten some wierd bug and were all CTD. We made it to the top of the hill and saw their firebase in the Hilltop Estate. We waited a while till some loaded back in then we headed to the Hilltop Estate to assault. The enemy had made very extensive defenses and it was impossible to gain access, all entrances were covered by HMG's and enemy was ready with grenades.

After a few attempts to rush the position failed, we hung back and guarded the entrances, when occasionally enemies would venture out and get killed.

We waited until an artillery strike could hit the Estate, then we all attacked simultanously from north and south entrances, but the enemy were dug in and the artillery was ineffective and did NOT knock out the 50cals or kill many enemy.

I believe the round ended with Russians losing prety badly, we lost many armor vehicles and they never helped the infantry squads on any assaults, which would have been really useful to surpress the rooftops of the estate and shell the insides of the buidlings but the armor units never responded to any of the requests for fire support and instead drove around the map doing their own thing (and getting destroyed by spandrels). I was not at the end, I was kicked by TG's script for supporting members (along with most of my squad)

Player Recommendations:

Outlawz: excellent medic, went way above and beyond the line of duty to revive fallen teammates, sometimes teammates were down for 3-4 minutes and he still managed to come revive them before they timed out. He knew when to take cover, when to throw smoke (and importantly) when to use his rifle when enemy were near. He followed our squad around as we were getting shot alot lol :P Good player, would recommend him again for medic.

FullKontact: great SL to work with, very good comms and kept his cool even when things were going badly. Good use of tactics, hope to play with him again.

GhostDog: Great SAW gunner, used good suppression and was a killer with that PKM!

Tantal, Faruk, MAINERROR, edRush: good squad members, listened well and obeyed all orders even when they got us all killed. Would play with you all again :)

Joined Rezza's squad, there was fighting on both sides of the river for most of the round. Lots of dying and respawning, and an epic moment when we attacked the enemy with 2 transport trucks all screaming our heads off on mumble, we all died and Im the only one who made it alive to our destination, and pistoled some guy in the back who tried to kill me off when I was hiding in a house.

The round ended 15-0 for MEC, we were all wondering how we actually won cause we were dying so much....

Was a good round but too spammy for my tastes, but that is Asad Khal with a full server for you.

Squad 3:
mk9 - APC Driver

What Happened:

We had an APC squad (mk9) with 2 APC's and my squad was mechanized infantry. We met up with Rezza's squad who was already inserted near the fish market via helicopter. We were driven ashore via APC. We dismounted at the fish market and proceeded down the coastal highway south towards the mosque. We took sporadic fire but the 2 APC's escorting us provided good fire support and we were able to enter the mosque.

The mosque had an enemy FOB, AA position and half a squad of hostiles which we quickly wiped out. Once the mosque was clear the APC's dropped ammo and RTB'ed for rearm.

What followed was an extended occupation of the mosque building by my squad and Rezza's squad. We held mainly the bottom floor as enemies attacked from below and above, we held that postion for about 40 minutes of continuous attacks.

Finally the rest of the team captured the other objective so we were free to move on to the south city objective. Mk9 lost an APC due to disconnects, so we had to shuttle each squad in 1 at a time. We made it to a back alley but Rezza's squad got flown in a huey and got wasted, so it was my squad stuck in the objective for a long time defending a back alley, while the rest of the team had to fall back to the other objectives because as soon as they were captured they were abandoned, and of course the enemy took them back.

Having a commander at this point would have been really useful as the rest of the team IMO was acting prety stupidly. They fought for 30 minutes to capture an objective, then as soon as they got it they left INSTANTLY, and the enemy just took it right back... I dont know how else to describe that behavior other than moronic.

So anyways we ended winning the round with around 100 tickets, it was an okay round but I felt the team was not as coordinated as it should have been, seeing how everyone was on mumble and all the SL were in the SL channel.

CAS seemed to be not very responsive and doing their own thing and frequently lost the attack helicopter, and lost the attack huey within the first 5 minutes of the round.

APC squad led by mk9 was doing okay but he was plagued with disconnects and players getting auto switched to the other side, and even mk9 himself was auto switched and unable to return to our team since the auto balance was not letting him.

Sniper squads were AWOL for USMC, very little info was being given about enemy positions.

The rest of the infantry like I said seemed to be very forgetful and generally slow to respond and did not have any kind of plan of action, it felt that most of them were simply just reacting to enemy contact rather than moving cohesively.

Not sure how we won the round with as many tickets as we did, I think the hostile APC's were the biggest reason as they were operating almost 100% as lone wolves and were easy targets for our HAT teams who did a good job.

What Happened:

Joined the TG server and a round of muttrah was already underway. I was put on the MEC side and was not feeling like changing teams (even though P.C. was on other side coordinating on mumble) so I decided to join a squad called "Eyes" lead by AlmightyLion.

He was already on his way into the hills overwatching east and west city, I picked up a marksman and joined him up there spotting targets. We spotted many troops and Lion took down some stationary targets, they really didnt get too wise about us. Then we spotted an enemy troop passing just below us in the valley (we were situated above the construction site). Turns out the enemy troop was a lone sniper, so I quickly climbed my way down the cliffs, hurting myself a bit but I was okay. I followed the enemy sniper for a while and he was completely oblivious that he was being followed. AlmightyLion had his sites on him the whole time and could have took him down at any point but I wanted to steal his kit so we waited till I could get closer. He went up into some low hills, then realizing he couldnt climb up them, turned around to see me, started firing and AM took his shot, taking the enemy snipers head off. I went up the hill and grabbed the new shiny M40 :)

After retrieving my new rifle, I went back with Almighty Lion and we started picking off targets that were attacking friendly units, they were all piling on top of the mosque. We had some funny incidents with medics trying to revive their fallen, and the enemy did not really get wise to us being up there so it was mostly a target gallery for us.

We had some team mates requesting info from us and we gave it out, and eventually I got on mumble channel to see google and biggayal were already there, and they started coordinating their 2 INF squads to clear out the mosque of hostiles. They eventually cleared the whole area out and the rest of the team was making a big push on North City.

The northern hotel rooftop became a murder scene as a clever squad got on top of it and had an RP, but it was completely exposed to myself and AM's magnified rifles, we made short work of the squad and they kept spawning on the RP only to be cut down, they never shot back and didnt even realize where we were, I felt prety bad but they didnt have to keep spawning up there... eventually the RP was overrun probably from too many squad deaths in the area.

Just after that, I heard some footsteps behind me and I knew it was not AlmightyLion as he was spotting targets. I spun around to see an American with no helmet and a pistol, and I immediately jumped off the cliff cause I knew he had the jump on me. Thankfully there was a ledge right below me and I survived, frantically yelling to AM about my little encounter. After a short chase AM quickly put a bullet in the back of the visiting enemy sniper, and we now happily had both enemy sniper kits.

Tip for any future would be snipers: WORK IN PAIRS!!! Me and AlmightyLion never really had any problems because the snipers that came to dispatch us always came by themselves, 2 eyes is better than 1 and when one of us was spotted, the other one usually took out the spotter, so thats why its best to have a partner.

Well we took North City but the round ended 87-0 for MEC, good round we were on a roll I think if it would have kept going the USMC would have been pushed into the sea.

Almighty Lion: Sniper. Spotted targets for the rest of team and eliminated high profile threats. Was instrumental to clearing out the mosque of hostiles when google and biggayal's squads began their assaults. Provided mutual security and extra set of eyes when needed to help observe overall defense and fill any gaps that mightve been needed.
After Muttrah City I asked Google and BigGayAl if they wanted to do a mechanized infantry squad. They agreed and we started 3 squads:
It was slow to start as we needed to recruit enough squad members to fill all the vital roles, but eventually I got my squad filled with competent players all who had mics and were mature.

We loaded the strykers and made our way to the first revealed cache that was in the southern outskirts of the main bulk of Ramiel. We positioned the strykers in overwatch along the ridge and had Squad 6 move inside the city. We were met with HEAVY resistance, and IED wiped the entire squad 6 out, squad 4 moved in for backup but quickly got pinned down and cut to pieces by multiple PKMs. I moved my stryker in to support the medic but he moved without smoke and was cut down. Both squads regrouped at the RP's and after some initial confusion and hesitation and moving in bad angles, they finally moved up and cleared the area. There was insurgents everywhere, IED's blocking off areas and it seemed almost every single house had an insurgent or two hiding inside, it felt very scary and very real.

After destroying the cache we retreated back to a firebase built near the bridge of the FOB. There we left the infantry and rearmed/repaired the vehicles back at the mainbase.

We made a intel patrol to the southern port town, discovering IED's and some insurgent activity.

IED's were cleared and from there we headed north, where some insurgent activity was reported in a double compound with a dried river bed running through the center. Sure enough we pulled up and there was tons of enemy activity here, we began engaging targets and were actually ambushed by insurgents in the hills, fortunately all squads were vigilant and defended off the ambushers while still maintaining effective fire on the target area.

Squad 1 led by TheGreatNardini had moved onto the village and was taking heavy losses but had managed to destroy the cache. He did not have radio comms but we asked him to join us and we protected him as he retreated from the compound and met us on the hill. From there we regrouped, squad1 getting a ride in the humvee. We retured to our FO which was under assault by some insurgents. They were cleared out and the vehicles went to rearm/repair.

At this point we had destroyed a few caches and APC squad took very little casaulties with Squad 4 having 13 casualties. We packed all squads up in teh APCs and headed west to a cache location in B3. We advanced slowly from south near the airport. Multiple contacts engaged and technicals destroyed, but some miscommunication had squad 1 100 meters east of the main force, which cut that squad off and they ultimately got killed off.

We entered the city with the vehicles with our infantry on point, but just as that happened a mortar strike began hitting our position, taking out the humvee and forcing the strykers forward. Just as the mortars hit and the strykers dashed forward, a bomb car came out of nowhere and took the lead stryker out (that was mine).

At this point I had to leave for work soon anyways so I appointed welshboy in charge of the squad and went AFK. On my way back I noticed we had lost the round so I assume things did not go so well once I left.

Either way it was a fun run and glad to see cooperation amougst squad leaders, even with us not going as fast paced as usual they stuck with it and followed orders as best they could.
Player Recommendations:

Sir Oddsodz: APC Gunner. Did an excellent job of providing suppressive fire, was alway firing to keep insurgents heads down and I think it helped for our INF, although they not always appreciated some of the closer rounds ;)

Welshboy: APC Driver. Stayed cool under fire, even with RPG's near missing multiple times he maintained a stable platform for his gunner to fire and was maintaining good formation throughout the round.

Wookie / Switch: Humvee Driver/ Humvee Gunner. Did a great job covering the rear of the convoy and destroyed several attempts to end it all by destroying bomb cars that were covertly trying to smash into us :P

Google: Squad Leader. performed well under stressful situation, at first was a bit hesitant to follow orders but then improved alot and made commanding much easier. Retained a large amount of players in squad, even players who were new to the suqad

BigGayAl: Squad Leader. very keen SL that is easy to issue orders to, as well as having patience to try some new things that might not been tried before or might not work out. Retained a large amount of players in squad, even players who were new to the suqad.

TheGreatNardini: Squad Leader. took well to orders, regrouping and reoutfittig to become part of mechanized platoon even without enough vehicles.

Hey there!

I'm a developer for PR, but more of an oversight and management position. My official role right now is asset manager, and I'm responsible for keeping general oversight on assets, maps and features and ensuring that the overall flow and gameplay of PR is of high quality.

It's a constant balance between realism and fun gameplay, and we are continually moving the mod towards more realism while retaining the fun aspects as well.

I try to play PR as often as I can on many public servers, and will be documenting my experiences in this blog.

All my updates in this blog will simply be After Action Reports (AAR's) about gameplay experiences, so if your looking for updates on the latest patch, look elsewhere :P

Feel free to comment etc, not expecting these to be read much, its just more of a convenient place for me to write down my thoughts on gameplay and have it accessible in the future.
