This is your bible now. Read it carefully and you'll spare your squad leader a lot of stress.<br />

Don't try to be a hero. Try to stay alive before everything else. Know how to use the rifle, and learn the basics of first aid - the field manual covers that - so that you can help your medic, should he get wounded in combat, and people can rely on you. You won't want to drive any heavy vehicles or even aircraft yet.<br />
<br />
In a proper &quot;INF VOIP&quot; squad, you'll be of use even when not very experienced, and you'll quickly learn everything that's important out on the battlefield. Follow orders, don't be too shy on the radio, and ask when you have questions, and you'll get along nicely with the veterans.<br />

Now go and report to Wicca's platoon, these guys are excellent at introducing recruits.<br />

it is not much to work from, but in cooperation with jonny and a few other guys i began working on getting it into a decent state.<br />
this went pretty good and we got the base design settle. <br />
at the time though i didn't have any uvw skills and so one of the other modellers did that for me.<br />
<br />
jump half a year to a year into the future and i was ready to work on my texturing skills. i could already at the time see that the uvw wasn't really what i wanted, i couldn't bake AO onto it, it had huge black spots and was unoptimized as hell (not something i wanted to put into the mod) nevertheless i already had a base texture for it and decided to just work a bit more on it for the practice.<br />
this is what i got (with horrible generated normal maps hehe)<br />

due to comments on other forums and me wanting to increase my skill level, i decided to now make a high poly model of the boat<br />

as you can see it has turned out pretty decent and i just finished making a new game model for it so that it is optimized for the game. now i need to uvw this baby and work on my texturing skills and hopefully, by the next patch that brings new vehicles into the game, this thing will be done and the chinese (or other factions) will not have to use those universal RIBS that dice made for all factions in bf2.<br />
