PR Lead Forum Moderator
![]() ![]() |
Due to summer commitments rapidly approaching, the Realitymod.com moderation team are looking for two to three (at most) new members of staff.
The requirements are simple:
Applications should be posted below in whatever format you find comes most naturally. Please be aware this is not an invitation for one-line applications; the more detailed an application is the more likely it will be considered for a position. Existing members of PR staff are welcome to apply but transfer to moderation staff will require relevant Team Lead / [R-DEV] approval. Shortlisting will be undertaken by the current moderation team as a whole. Final selection will be made by myself on the basis of the team's recomendations and with final approval by [R-DEV] A.J.Sawyer. Our decision will be final. Closing date is a week from today; 20th May 2008, applicants will be notified by Private Message by the 27th May if their application has been sucessful. Please do not post unless you are posting an application; spam comments will be deleted. |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
Hello,
I have been a member of the forums for a while now, and while my post count isnt high, what i post (i like to think) is usually of quality. I myself have only be warned once on these forums. I am North American, and i think i could help out with moderating the forums due to timezone differences. I am a junior in highschool, and i will have allot of free time over the summer to help with moderating (as i never do anything over the summer I also have experience with the VB moderating panel, and i know how to use that section of VB effectively. Thanks Eddiereyes909 |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
As you can see from my info under my avatar, Ive been active on these forums for over a year. Ive only been in trouble with the MODs once(that i know of), when i posted a topic in the OT forums about me taking a loose CD of MOH:Airborne from a Circuit city(i dont know what i was thinking). Other than that non-forum related trouble i have a clean slate.
I too am from North America and i am on very often because i get out of class at 11am EST time and will be able to be on the forums from that time until about 12am(later once school ends). Im 17(18 in september) and am in my final month of high school. I am very versed on all things PR(except for the technical jumbo, but we can leave that to the DEVs and CONs) and i know i will be able to answer most if not all, questions related to PR. I also play PR quite often(in the tourney as well) , so im aware of its flaws too. I consider my self mature and i think my history here shows that. I have never had any trouble or serious arguments with anyone on the forums. In addition, i know that i will also be able to follow any and all orders from the powers that be. Well thats about all there is to know about me. If i dont get accepted for whatever reason or due to that one issue(the MOH CD) i understand and will not hold it to any of you. Thanks for the opportunity |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
Hello,
Been here for a bit now, hope I'm recognised by a few. As you can see, I've been here for about 7 months now, and whilst my post count is of a rather low number, my posts are usually well thought and well presented. I do believe I haven't been warned on these forums, please feel free to contact me if there are/were problems. As a UK resident, I can provide moderation with others in the GMT timezone. Currently in year 10 at high school, giving me some lee-way over the holidays, as long as coursework is minimal. I have been told to be quite mature for my age, and easily approachable. I can work in a team, but dont be worried if I quieten up a bit, I usually let others speak first, before I voice my opinions. You can find me on this board near enough every day, and am usually refreshing every five minutes to check the latest news. Whilst I am not totally new to the moderation feature of VB boards, it has been a while since I last used it, and there may be new features/changes. I can be a quick learner, so training would be a 10 minute job. Hope you consider my application. Many thanks, Sarge. |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
Well i have been a member of the PR community well over a year now & im visiting the forums on regular basis, normally several times a day. I work alot during summer but i'm not going on a vacation so therefor i'll still be active.
My english might be limited due to english not being my first language but i'll definantly do my best in communicating in a professional way. I have never been "awarded" any warning points at any given time on the PR/PRT Forums. // Olsson |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
I joined this website before the 13th of November of 2007, however, I only started posting a few months ago. Post count doesn't make a difference in my opinion from other websites, as spammers have large numbers but very little quality in them. Often times, the useful posts are deleted, and ultimately the offender is banned.
In recent years, I've found it easier to speak with a wide branch of people, and often times I have a response waiting in my head before the other person(s) finishes. If there is something wrong, I'll do my best to inform them, but at times, being tactful is better than being truthful. I have only received one warning to date via PM from [R-MOD]dunehunter, and that was for posting bandwidth-hogging .png images. He saved the image links, after reading the message I thanked him and apologized for the mistake. It's mostly these technical things that I get warned for on other sites, but after being informed, I do not repeat my errors. "Respect others if you wish to be respected" is an old saying I try to follow in life. Plain friendliness makes people popular, and I knew I wanted to spend time with easy-going pleasant people. In a way, their attitude rubs off on you, so you treat other people better. I have previous experience as a moderator on other websites such as GameSpot (union moderating) and an editor for a Wiki. In my younger years, I participated in many teams, ranging from four people to twenty-two people. School projects, soccer practice, soccer matches and a 4-person team for science project. We made a solar cooker that made third place to a volcano and self-propelled toy car, but the functionality of the cooker was limitless. Often times, my favorite PR servers are either full or too slow to have an actual game. So I head down here daily to check on new things, answer questions and place my input on suggestions. I live in San Antonio, Texas, United States. The time zone is Central time, so while others in their time zones are sleeping or just waking up, I should be browsing the forums. I can't say that I'd be the most experienced for the job, but I do have plenty of free time. I'd even edit posts for proper spelling and grammar to make them easier to read. Did this a lot on my old moderator job. I also just checked that there are sticky threads with out of date information on the site. |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
I have been a member of the PR forums since back in the days of .302 (though I lost the info for that account). I have been a regular player since .5, and have been eagerly awaiting subsequent releases.
I have, to my recollection, a few warns, and one ban for commenting on the quality of teamwork in .5 (a ban I do not think was just). One warn I received without knowing, and what I thought was a forum glitch was actually the removal of something one of the mods found offensive, so when I reinserted it into my sig, I received another warn. If selected as moderator, I can be counted on to stick to the spirit of the forum rules, and not abuse the powers in any way, as I have a dislike of the abuse of power. I am regularly active, especially in the summer, and play PR whenever I get the chance. I am 20 years old and have just ended another semester at my college. |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
I would also like to send my application on one of the [R-Mod] posts here, also agreeing that with Expendable Grunt, Swe_Olsson and ironcomatose already 3 other regular inhabitants of the forum have send an application and I see good chances for all of them.
But lets come to my person. I am 19 years old, and have just finished school (A-Level compareble, called Abitur) in Germany. So i do have a lot of time and I think i don't have to tell you that I'm visiting the forums quite often. I had been warned 2 times for a bit rude language (i can't remember what the first time was, but the second one was actually complaining about a too huge signature Furthermore I would like to do for the mod as creating some avatars and dvd covers and so i would really like to help in such a position. What makes me especially suited for this job is, that i have a pretty good mind in reminding things and i will remind a lot of resuggestions without having to look in the sticky and that i have already administrated a vBulletinboard and thus do know even the more advanced features. Even with English beeing my second language i think i could do this job for you. So if you need my, call me and I'll be there |

Re: Recruiting: New Moderation Staff
Been around since August, again my post count isn't the highest but I have the ability to clearly articulate what I need to.
I got a warning once for having a too much writing under my signiture, that's all that shows up on my profile. I'm finishing my AS exams in early June and will be able to commit myself over the summer. I'm comfortable moderating forums, as I used to be in charge of EEF before I gave that up to focus on my current exams so I need something PR to focus on when i've finished them. Also I find it easy to work as part of a team to get things done. I'm always up for a laugh but know trhat when something serious has to be done i'll get stuck in and be right there towing the line. I've got a good knowledge of PR so technical issues and such should be no problem and my real world knowledge of the military and such is pretty decent (no where near Bob's though...). Think that's it. Cheers, Morgan. |
