I believe it has something to do with the Message of the Day. Last times I tried logging in, it took forever too. Then everything was good, except there was nothing in the message of the day box.

It's the game trying to retrieve the message, but it was messed up. Now, everything should be good.

it's EA's/Dice's fault since they're the ones running the login servers, probably they are not having enough of them servers and they're overloaded amo.

Maybe contact them about it?

However, i certainly not believe its a PR issue, rather a vBF2 issue, try logging in with vBF2 should take the same time.

agreed.

Makes one worry about the day EA stops BF2 server support :\ How would that play out? I always wonder the same thing about Steam, where I have all these games stored electronically :\ heheh

I've also experienced this problem. I would have it just sit there for about 10 minutes, I'd get impatient and just reboot and load up PR again, then it works perfectly. The times after I reboot and it works, there is no message of the day, so I initially thought it had some ties to that. I've yet to get it again and try launching vBF2 to test out the new theory.

It is entirely possible (and somewhat not surprising) that it could be linked to EA/Gamespy Account Servers and not PR.

I'm also having an issue logging in. It'll say it's logging into for about a minute or two then says it couldn't connect.

The server has refused the connection.

I tried with both PR and Vanilla, I'm not getting in tonight

I'll go play civ4 and try again tomorrow.
