Challenger Slide

This is a new bug or perhaps an old bug accentuated with the new 0.756 patch.

Playing Al Kufrah Oilfield earlier today on the TG server. Obviously we were British and my squad took out two Challenger tanks into the field.

Every time we stopped the vehicle would continue going in the direction we were traveling before. Even if it was up hill the tank would stop and then start sliding slowly up hill and it continues to do so until you press reverse or turn in the opposite direction of the slide. Then it might stop or else it start making your tank go left and right slightly but very noticeable if you are zoomed in. Even exiting the vehicle and getting back in doesn't always work.

Let me add that my Squad mates were also experiencing the slide when they drove or gunned. So it wasn't just me for whatever reason.

So I don't know what happened to the Challenger tanks but they certainly do not like to stop and be steady.

well i drove the challenger plenty already but only on albrashar, and the only time something like that happens is when the tank is on a little ledge, like right under one of the wheels, it starts doing the "makarena" until i get off that little bump. Either than that, the tank seems to be fine (except that gunner now deploys smoke and i have no idea what the hell the left mouse button does as driver).

PS: is this site running uber slow lately or what??

Observe everything, admire nothing.

Happened again on Al Kufrah Oilfield. This time only once but it was a pretty bad bug. It instantly killed anyone who touched the tank or tried to get on it. So for some reason it think it's moving at max speed or something and hitting someone. Even though it was only shaking a few inches to the left and right. We had to ram it with a Commander truck to get it to stop shaking enough to enter the vehicle. Then after driving it a few feet it stopped sliding.

Annoying little bug.

Yea I was playing last night on qinling and my I driver when going up the hill told me tha even though he was accelerating up the hill he felt like somethng was pulling him down and it wasn't a big hill that would give trouble going up. So it happens with the warrior too could this possibly be another bug?

Merlin bug, challenger sliding up the hill, CTD when joing certain servers or even all and many, many other unexplained issues... Its the ghost of vBF2 trying to destroy its biggest rival, trying to eat it from inside, to claim back all the ones that were lost when PR came to life.
The question isn't "Is this might be true?"... Its a FACT!
The question is if there's anything that we can do to defend ourselfs...

Random.. ehmmm... "player": Give me the chopper. No. I want to fly. No. But I want to, get out from it now or I TK you. ... ... ... No

Dr2B Rudd - Yes it looks very much like that but a little slower. Once you go in the opposite direction of the slide the slide either slows way down or starts in the other direction. It's almost like a lag slide but everything around the vehicle is moving at normal speeds. And yes BF2 is cursed Warmagi.

I've seen the death tank before, a few guys drove the challenger back towards the firebase, then they bailed and dropped dead. So I figure I'll go grab the tank and repair it problem is (and it wasn't bouncing or sliding) as soon as I touched it I'm dead, like I'd been crushed or something.. As for the sliding I generally find I just have to move and rotate and it becomes stable until the gunner fires cannon again..

Vehicle sliding was murder, literally, in a round of Al Basrah. 4 British soldiers were TKed due to a manned APC rolling backward because of its position in a ditch.
